has a doc ever told you youd never be alowed to do a VBAC??

No, and if a doctor told me I couldn't I would seek another doctor. there are doctors that are not willing, and will not (or try hard not too) allow for vbacs. But generally its really rare for a woman not be able to VBAC (doesn't mean a VBAC will happen). Why did you have a csection?

my pelvis apparently they said is to narrow and my daughter wouldnt decend far enough down into my pelvis to come out vaginally so after 2 hours of pushing and her heart rate dropping constantly they said theyd suggest doing a c section..

I was told never to attempt a VBAC by my Dr. I then went and got a second opinion, and was told that was nonsense and give it a go. My baby is only 3 months old so I've got time to consider it. If I was in the situation right now, I would choose a C-section tbh, just because of the risk.

I think it depends on why you had a section in the first place. my midwife has just told me that she would recommend a VBAC (I trust her, and know she would support me if further down the line I decide I want to be booked in for whatever reason). I also know that my mother-in-law had all her boys by section as her coccyx was sitting in a place which made delivery impossible - she lost her first son as a result of the delivery team not knowing this at the time.

A narrow pelvis is actually pretty rare, so I would still attempt a vbac, a lot of doctors use that as an excuse to get a woman to agree to a csection, to hurry up labor. Your pelvis opens up..

The other thing to think about, is how did you labor? laying on ur back, pushing on your back, because women should actually be up right or squatting while in labor/pushing. Gravity takes over and helps us.

I also later found out the my doctor wasn't even sure I was at 10cm, they just got me to push anyways. So productively it wasn't doing anything anyways.

now having said that, because your baby's heart rate was so up and down the C-section was probably a good choice. But, if your babies heart rate was okay I would have continued.

hi just a quick note that its your body and your choice!!!!! im happy to tell you its very possible as i had 2 sections then my 3rd was normal delivery!

I am not having a third child, there is simply no way on earth I would consider it after my second but if I was to try again I was told by a few doctors I wouldn't be allowed a VBAC. I attempted a VBAC with DS2 and had uterine rupture; my uterus, vagina and bladder all tore open and DS2 was outside of the uterus and we basically had minutes left to live. Although in this situation I agree that a VBAC would be crazy to attempt.

Yes, unfortunately at 37 weeks pregnant with my HBA1C baby my consultant in the hospital thought it was a good idea to tell me I'd give birth to a dead baby, and IF I survived the home delivery I'd need a hysterectomy.
They wanted me in hospital and continually monitored from 3cm onwards.
I planned a home water birth.
I asked if they could give me a hospital water birth but being ''hospital policy'' to continually monitor caesarean mothers who attempt a VBAC after 3cm - they wouldn't.

Needless to say, although I was upset and felt bullied into having a repeat caesarean and hospital birth, I went ahead with my home birth.
20 hours of labour, NOT ONE problem during the birth and at 3am my beautiful HBA1C baby was born.
He wasn't born dead, I wasn't (and still am not) dead and considering I went on to have 3 more children (and am TTC more) I didn't need a hysterectomy either!

My closest hospital is 30m. Unfortunatley for
Insurance reasons, they don't offer vbac. If i wanted the option, i would have to go to the city an hour away to another hospital if and when i went in labor. A little too risky for me after a first delivery that ended up emcs anyways.
