New and Petrified!!

Hey.. I've just joined as I'm 18 years old and just found out i'm 5 weeks pregnant yesterday and I think I'm still in shock! I was on the pill while I was seeing the baby's dad but he didn't want anything complicated but I guess that didn't turn out too well!!
I have told him and he's being very supportive however I feel like I'm on my own and I don't know what I'm meant to be doing!!

My friends don't understand and have all told me I'm being unfair on the baby if I keep it and that I'm ruining my life which just makes me feel even more on my own in this as everyone seems to have an opinion!! :'(

Would really appreciate any advice or just someone to talk to who is or has gone through something similar?

hey my names bethany im 15 and due June 18 with a baby girl congratulations on your pregnancy. if your boyfriend is being supportive then what anyone else says doesnt matter the decision to keep this baby is you and the fathers that is it, its not your friends decision and if they were real friends they would support you no matter what you decide, here at BnB you'll find all the support you need and i would love to chat with you if you need anything i went through something similar some friends were very judgemental and even my boyfriends mother makes it very difficult throughout my pregnancy and tried to make me get an abortion but it wasnt anyones decision but mine and i chose to keep it, dont let anyone talk you into doing something you dont want to. i felt on my own for a while but some of my friends came around and my mom turned out to be HUGE support if you need anything pm me

It's good your boyfriend is supporting you You need to go to the doctor and they should refer you to the midwife. Everyone will tell you that to start with tbh, having a baby made my life, if it wasn't for him I'd be out drinking the whole time and not knowing what I wanted to do, now I know what career path I wish to follow and I love being a mum!

All I can say is that people say some shit when something like this happens and a lot of people will turn their backs on you and abandon you but many will also step up and those are the ones that are good friends!

U don't ruin your life by having babys my babys have made my life I was 16when I had my son and everyone told me the same thing its down to you how ur life turn out and down to you to have your baby not thiers ya its hard but its the most rewarding thing in the world xx

Thank you for all the replies! and congratulations to all of you!! I can't believe how happy you guys sound! It's so relieving to know there are actually people who understanding and have come out the other side of this smiling as all i seem to want to do is cry!!! lol

Thats half the issue though... me and the dad aren't together :/ he's one of my best friends and we've been seeing each other 'unofficially' (no one knows) for a couple of months now but he doesn't want to be tied down.. last night I had to cry myself to sleep as he was talking about all these other girls he's been talking to and who basically have asked him for sex and that made me feel so worthless!

I've had everyone say I'm being selfish too, but it's up to you and how you feel! Support will come when you tell your family. My baby's dad didn't want me to keep it but he's coming round and warming up slightly but I know how u feel. Once I had my first scan I feel in love wid my baby . But do what's right for u

I lost all my friends support as soon as they found out I had fallen pregnant and was keeping it. I was on the pill when I got pregnant AND I have endometriosis which just made my pregnancy seem like a miracle rather than a mistake. None of my friends really understood where I am coming from with my thoughts, and soon stopped seeing and talking to me. You are really lucky that your boyfriend is being supportive and I'm sure family support will be there too. It is really hard to have your friends saying stuff like that too you, but trust me you get over and beyond it. I couldn't be happier that I'm pregnant, and have great family support . So congrats on the pregnancy

Most people will go and tell you 'you're ruining your life' if you have kids young. Let me tell you, I conceived my daughter at 17, I delivered her at 18. I had my son at 19. I'm now 21 and about to have my third child. They are my absolute world, and I wouldn't change being a young mum for anything. Those who said I was 'ruining my life' now see just how much I have grown as a person since becoming a mother. So do not listen to that point of view at all. This is YOUR child.
