hi everyone,

though I'd introduce myself... I'm moving over from TTC because we just found out that DF has azoospermia.

thats all I guess. we're just shocked and extremely sad/scared/worried/disheartened... I dunno.... lost

thank you. I'm not sure how much I'llbe on here for a bit. It's kinda sad and shocking to find out the DF has this problem but actually I really feel quite lost as to what to say or how to feel about it all. I don't want to come across selfish, and I want to support him, neither of us really know what to do with this info or where to go from here

Welcome MayMay,

I'm sorry about the diagnosis. But the upside is that once you know what is wrong you can take steps to overcome it. I'm not familiar with your diagnosis, so can't be much help in that department. Just wanted to say hello, and wish you luck!

Hello MayMay. Welcome, and sorry about your DF. Hopefully they can get him on some sort of treatment to get things corrected. Good luck!

Welcome Chica,

I think we all feel lost sometimes, it's very hard. I do hope you can find some type of comfort here with the ladies. This section is very supportive and warm. Whenever you need to let it out, there's always an empathic ear listening. :hugs:

From what we've read thus far there are many reasons why a man may not have sperm in his semen but generally it fall under one of two categories. obstructive (meaning theres a blockage that is preventing sperm from getting out properly) or non-obstructive which means generally that there is a problem with production not delivery. The woman on the phone just told us that he has 0 sperm in his semen, which leads ME to think there MUST be an obstruction or he has retrograde (where the sperm actually head up to the bladder instead and then he passes it all in the loo) Fingers crossed that we have sperm though and then its just a matter of surgery or aspiration of the sperm from his testes (YIKES!) We haven't talked to a FS or anyone yet, we haven't even gotten a referral to urologist yet... it's so painfully slow but then again it's still really new to us.

I'm sorry to hear that! I didn't realize that could happen... but nowadays I'm starting to think anything is possible when it comes to fertility. I truly hope strength finds us and sees us all through.

My son is from a previous relationship actually. I have no problems with fertiltiy myself so far, (knock on wood!) I was actually on the pill when I concieved my son! I had gotten the stomach flu for just under a week and well, a little "feelin' better lovin'" led to my beautiful boy. Our relationship ended while I was pg so until my DF I've been a single mum.

I don't want to pry but... if you're comfortable, may I ask what methods of assistance are you pursuing under your circumstances?

Hi and welcome. I am new here too, and we just found out that we are TTC with male factor infertility, though I believe that his counts are low but not absent. I am still waiting to see about myself. I totally know what you mean about not knowing what to say to your DH. Mine is acting totally weird about it. It is a difficult and uncharted territory for us, so I guess time will tell how things go.
I wish you all the best!

My OH has been on Zinc, Maca and vit a, c, e and selenium as well as cutting out alcohol since the results in Jan hoping to improve the sperm and we have an appointment at a private clinic in march for an IVF more specifically ICSI consultation with surgical sperm retrieval hoping we will get enough to fertilise enough eggs. We went private as I didn't want to go on the 2 year ivf waiting list.

Good luck :hugs:
