Anyone know anything about it? All its says ont he website is they are adding something to it what is in breaskmilk, no other formulas have it it. Its supposed to be available this summer.

I know a little. Its already available in Europe as far as I know. They have added live probiotic cultures to the powder formula version only (as the high temps used in the manufacturing of liquid formula would kill of the live cultures) but the whole Hipp range will be rebranded as Hipp Organic Combiotic.
The new powdered formula will need to be made with water at around 40-50 degrees so that the live cultures remain intact. So this puts the whole 70c argument out of the window! I emailed Hipp about this and they said that its common practice in Europe to make with cooler water and they have made vast improvements to their manufacturing process above and beyond what it required by law, so risk should be very, very minimal.
We are planning on using the new Hipp formula when baby 3 comes along in november.
Also in the emails they said they are hoping for an August/september release.
Hope this helps. xxxx

It sounds good to me but i have a thing about not trusting anything thats 'new'. I'm so paranoid.

xx

Well our babies are due a couple of months after its release so Im sure that if people do have problems with the new formula then they will be identified before our little ones come along. Also its not really "new" per say as its already been released in Europe, it will just be new to the UK market. xxx

oh right. Ive tried googling it and came up with a few leaflets and some info on the site but thats about it. If its as good as they say it is then it must be brilliant lol.

xx

Well Ive researched formula brands as much as I can and I am defo gonna give it a go to start with. If DD3 doesnt get on with it then we will just use good old Cow and Gate again lol xxx

Do you know if its replacing the normal HIPP milk? Or is it an alternative? xx

Yes from what the person I was emailing at Hipp told me. The whole Hipp milk range is being rebranded as Hipp Organic Combiotic, with new easier to use packaging aswell (with a built in formula leveller etc). Only the powder version will be changing to incorperate the new live culture probiotics though, as the liquid version is high heat treated, so the cultures wouldnt survive. xxx

Here is the email reply I got from Hipp regarding the new formula. xx

Thank you for your e.mail enquiry concerning the forthcoming release of our new HiPP Combiotic range of formula milks.

We have added "friendly bacteria" to the new HiPP formulas to bring the powdered version another step closer to the nutritional composition of breastmilk. These probiotics have been added to our First Infant, Hungry Infant, Follow on and Growing Up Milks - in the powdered formats. They have not been added to the ready to feed milks as unfortunately, the temperatures used to make the ready to feed milks destroy the "friendly bacteria", so it is impossible to add them at the moment. We could add the "friendly bacteria" to the ready to feed milks after the ultra high heat treatment, but then the milks would need to be refrigerated at all times. The Starter Packs are also ready to feeds and therefore will remain the same.

All of our range will now be marketed under the trade mark of "Combiotic" - but only the powdered versions mentioned above will contain the "friendly bacteria".

We are hoping that these milks will be available by the beginning of August - but this does depend on the stock situation of the retailers, but once they have sold through all of our current formulation - then this will be replaced with our Combiotic milks.

We hope we have answered your queries, but if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards

hey!

I am originally form austria and have just been on holiday there for 6 weeks! I was breastfeeding my twins before we went there and only gave my son a few bottles of cow and gate! he preferred bottles so I switched him to formula completely after pumping for about 2 weeks.

In austria they don't have c&g so I started using hipp combiotik and ALL he loved it! I was hoping they have it here in the uk when we came back but it was only the hipp organic (normal one) which we are using now and it is perfectly fine, he is enjoying it but has less frequent poos, which makes him a bit fussy, just like th cow and gate did.

I will DEFINITELY start buying the combiotik again once its on the market! I can't wait!

Also, I am planning on breastfeeding my daughter until the they are both 6 months and hope that the combiotik has been released til then!

Bump.

This was on the shelfs in my local Tesco so have just bought it for my fussy, constipated and gassy LO! It looks fab but haven't tried a feed yet. We are going to switch straight over from Aptamil. My LO also gets a little expressed breastmilk (generally only 1 feed every 2/3 days as that's all I can express).

It's a faff to make. You have to boil the water then let it cool to 40 - 50degrees - I don't even know what that temp feels like it.

I plan on sterlizing all bottles, boiling the kettle, adding the water to bottles and storing in the fridge in a clean/sterile shelf for milk only. Then when I need a feed will heat the water and add the powder before giving to LO.

The box is rubbish too. It comes with 2 foil sachets of powder which are supposed to be resealable but they are definately not air tight. They have added a scoop leveller thing but it's on the cardboard part of the box and you would lose half the powder into the cardboard if you used it. So I'm going to sterilize a plastic knife with the scoop and use it instead.

I can't find any reviews or experiences to see how other LOs have got on with it but will definitely update and let other Mums know if it helps my unsettled little man and how the change goes xx

I'm on my 2nd box of this now as I bought it in Tesco 2 weeks ago. LO doesn't seem to take it any differently but I ignored the temp instructions on the box LOL and made it as normal. Now I know more about why they've said it I'll follow it better!!

Its in my local tesco (a smaller sized supermarket) but couldnt see it in boots etc.

LO has had a dirty nappy every feed since we started yest morning so a huge improvement on his usual straining and constipation. Hes still unsettled with wind but think its cos he wont burp after feeds and not milk related. Hes also more pukey on this compared to aptamil but doesnt seem to bother hin xx

Noah drinks this now. Doesnt seem that different from the other Hipo Organic. Its in Tescos and Boots x
