Hi, I would like your opinions please.

After being made redundant I have just been redeployed to another dept - so I have continuity in my length of service etc. Me and DH were planning on starting to TC in Sept - is this a bit cheeky or would you say it was really none of their business ?

I am in two minds really as it may take months actually conceive but I don't really want to delay starting as I am 32.

Thanks for your help

I wouldn't say it is cheeky at all, you just do what feels right for you and your OH hun.

We started TTC (well NTNP i suppose!) the same week i started my current job (but like you had previously worked for the same employer so had continuity of service)

Good luck!

Not cheeky at all - thats your decision!!! Doesnt matter about what they think and if your continuity of service is even better- means you'll be entitled to everything!

TTC can't be about anyone other than you guys.

Goodluck! x

I am possibly starting a new job next week and won't be putting off my TTC plans.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, all!!

We are planning to ttc in a few months and i have been in my new job only 5 weeks. I too, have continuation of terms n conditions as I work for the NHS. I am so glad to have read all your positive advice,as I too was feeling a bit cheeky with ttc whilst in a new job.
I am nearly 37 and really cannot afford (and don't want to lol) to wait too much longer.

I am worried about how the news will be received though, when it does happen . xx

:hugs:

I think it always feels tricky, and it's only 'delaying the inevitable' as far as work is concerned, where as for you, it has a great impact on your whole life. You can only live your life for you x

Well said Seraphim :thumbup::thumbup:

I never thought of it that way before -are my work really gonna care if i am pg 4 months 7 months or 12 months into my employment with them?? Whichever, they are still gonna be a bit pissed lol -and I can't afford to wait 2 or 3 years.

And being pg isn't going to affect my work ethic or ability, so you are so right. My priority now, is planning to ttc when it suits me, my DH our already established family and making sure our new edition comes at the best possible time for us.
Thanks for this xx :hugs:

I wouldn't worry about it :) If the time is right for you then go for it - its your decision and nobody elses!
