Hi

I work for River Island - any pregnant fans out there? If so, we're sure you'll be glad to hear that from September we'll be selling our brand new maternity range. We want all you lovely mums-to-be to tell us what you'd like to see. What do you look for in terms of style and comfort? What items would you like to be included in the range? Please reply to this thread to let us know.

Thank you!

Heya ive not long had my LO but always useful ....

Black 'work' trousers.
Fashionable and practical winter coats - very scarse on the market.
Comfy tops to wear that can be 'tidy' and 'smart'.

Elasticated and hidden elasticated waist bands are a must!

xxxx

Yes, winter coats are a must!! Trendy ones. Nothing out there now that's able to zip over the belly!!

Cute sweaters - in all different colours, not just "winter" colours.

I've found that there are tons of summer clothes (and they are so cute!) but I am worried the winter selection will be "old-lady" style and not very flattering.

Woo, this'll be out in time for me to wear it hopefully :happydance:

I agree with the others, winter coats, smart workwear and boyfit jeans but with elasticated waistbands. xx

Everyday Workwear.
Decent shirts and trousers, remembering that most of us at work need to dress modestly

Oh god I even bore myself ;)
But it's been the biggest pain for me.

I'd like a better choice of LONG tops because it's so much easier to resort to leggings! But they are not good for curvy bottoms ;p

whoop !! when i was preggo it was soo hard to find decent clothes that were actually fasionable!!! i agree re the long tops etc also jeans that arent made for midgets!!! i could not find mat jeans long enough for me!! (resorted to hair band around waistband of normal jeans!!!!) and some nice dresses - had weddings/parties to go to but nothing really to wear !! thanks

I found it near impossible to find decent work clothes, just wanted nicely tailored, fashionable trousers and skirts - I used to live in pencil skirts for work and just couldn't find anything once I was pregnant. The main problem I found was that Mamas and Papas clothes were too frumpy and not always very flattering but nowhere else did anything other than casual dress, which wasn't suitable for work.

Winter clothing ranges as well that are fitted and flattering, not just baggy sweaters. and some pretty tops, dresses for Christmas parties - you want to look and feel fab for a party.

There is soooo much nice summer stuff out there but nothing nice for fall IMO! :)

Sweaters that aren't too heavy-- us preggos don't need much, we've got little furnaces in there!

Hmm.. comfy, supportive, CASUAL pants.. I had a hard time finding these, dress pants were way easier to find.

Jeans that feel like normal jeans on your legs and bum- mine were always sagging on my bum and the denim didn't feel as nice as my regular jeans!!

a decent size range, most high street stores are under generous with the fit and stop at size 18! us larger ladies have real difficulty finding nicely fitting maternity clothes.

instead some of us end up buying larger sized normal clothes and look like we're wearing a tent.

3/4 sleeved tops, and wrap over tops so they can be used as breastfeeding tops when the baby has arrived.

I agree with the work wear!!I am really struggling to find a decent pair of smart workwear trousers, I am already finding that as I sit down at my desk all day at work, my trousers are digging in, and I am desperate to find some decent workwear!!

Longline tunics and tops for wearing with leggings and some nice vests that can be worn underneath anything!!

winter coats are definately a must i found it so hard finding one to fit over my growing bump when pregnant with my 2 daughters. x

I foudn when I was pregnant that loads of maternity clothes were really boring colours - some bright stuff would be nice! x

Skinny jeans with elasticated waist!

Bright tshirts with sayins on.

Definately need a choice of leg lengths! Theres not enough maternity ranges that do longer leg lengths, although there seems to be quite a few petite ones.
And more over the bump stuff - they dont fall down as easily!
And yeah I agree about the boyfriend fit jeans too, can't seem to find any nice ones, especially over the bump ones, and ones longer than 32"
Cant wait for RI maternity btw :D

Over bump jeans in a size 18 in a long leg...thats what the world is missing!!

Hi

I agree definitely some nice winter coats and maybe some nice colours the patterns I've seen in the shops are nothing like what I would normally wear I always look like my gran has made me something out of her old curtains.

x

Definately a longer length and some nice long jumpers (not big frumpy ones though) decent fitting trousers are a must as are decent fitting skirts. I always found the bump band on trousers never came hiugh enough so when it was cold the top of my bump would get cold
