Hi everyone,

I am very new at this, I gave birth yesterday morning and have only just got DD latching and feeding (not for lack of trying!) my question is, as shes coming to the end of a feed I get period pains?? I just want to make sure it's normal!

Thank you very much and I'm sorry if that's a silly question!

Very much normal, it's your uterus contracting :)

One of the benefits of breastfeeding (although it can feel like a pain at the time) is it gets your uterus back to normal much quicker.

Totally normal! I'm a FTM, my daughter was born 6 weeks ago. The first few times I fed her I thought I was going to have diarrhea, but the feeling went away after she was done feeding. When you feed your baby, oxytocin is released which causes your uterus to contract, which causes the period pains (or in my case diarrhea pains!).

Yes completely normal. It won't last long just a few days whilst your uterus contracts back.
