Velcro and snaps? And AIO's and the ones you need to put inserts, and the ones that you stuff? Apart from the obvious?:winkwink:
The difference in use/washing/nappy rash/absorbancy etc, is what I actually mean to ask.
I just bought 9 AIO cheapies off e-bay for a very good price. I'm gonna wait till the baby's here and I've tried them before I buy more (I think... there are so many cute prints...)
I will be a stay-at-home mum, so we will have only one income, and I want to try to do my bit by saving some money on disposables. This is our first baby so maybe they could even be used for a next bub.

Hi Luzelle,

You're in the wrong section. This is for selling and buying pre-loved (2nd hand) nappies. If you go here:

https://www.babyandbump.com/natural-parenting/
you'll find all the lovely experts who can answer everything.

and there is a beginner's guide to cloth written by BNB members here:

To answer some of your questions:
Aplix/ velcro is velcro and snaps are poppers. They are just different ways of fastening the nappy, nothing more and nothing less. Some people prefer poppers as velcro can get a bit tired after a while. Some prefer velcro as it's easier for their OHs/Mums/Childminder etc to deal with.

Yes the idea is that you reuse your nappies for subsequent babies to save even more money.

AIO = all in one and has the absorbant material already sewn in so you put it on and off like a disposable and wash it. Pockets have a pocket where you put the insert (absorbant material), they are also known as stuffables sometimes. It means you can adjust the absorbancy to suit your baby as you can put any inserts you want in, plus they tend to dry faster than AIOs as you dry the inserts and the nappy separately. Pockets are very popular.
Now you say you got AIOs from ebay? Was it from one of the Chinese / Hong Kong sellers. If so it is probably a pocket and not AIO as described. They are a bit confused I think on how to describe the nappy and say AIO when they aren't.
Anyway, if you go over to the natural parenting section you'll find heaps of info and ladies to help you.
