hello, im 22 from scotland. me and my partner are ttc. this will only be our 4th month ttc, but im concerned. we both only quit smoking 4 months ago, we both dont drink, but im scared the ciggys will take a long time to come out the system properly? i smoked for 8 years and he smoked for 20 years. my bf is 14 years older than me, and im really worried these two factors will prevent any conception. just need some friendly words.

also, anyone else who is going threw the same, id like to be chat pals with you.

i always get really upset when i find out its not worked.

Don't worry about the smoking, you will be so much healthier now. I conceived my son (accidentally) when I used to party 4 times a week. Also you're 22, prime age to concieve. The more relaxed you are the better, good luck x

Hi and welcome here Hope you will have fun and find lots of nice people to talk too.

I would not overly worry about the smoking, you stopped and it's already a huge step. Smoking does affect your chances of conceiving (and then again, not too much. It's manly just a health hazard) but it does not have any long lasting effects when you stop, I believe it only takes a few months to ''recover''. Just make sure you don't start the bad habit again and you will be completely fine.

Like xsadiex said, you are 22, in those years fertility is at it's peak. And since you don't drink and (hopefully) do not take any hard drugs you should have no problem conceiving

thanks girls. im more relaxed now and thinking 'if it happens now or later it will happen'! not i dont take drugs lol even a glass of champaigne i only drink half of it to be polite teehee! good luck girls xxx
