Good evening!
This is my first time posting on one of these threads, but I feel that I am all in at this point, so why not! My TTC journey began at 18 when I was started on PROVERA to induce a period. I was a late bloomer and very athletic, but didn't ever tart my period on my own. The provera didn't work, so the Dr. put me on birth control which did bring on a period. I stayed on the BC pills off and on for eight years. At that time the doctor did lots of tests to make sure everything was okay. All labs came back low/normal, no pituitary tumor, all necessary organs accounted for, etc. The doctor diagnosed it as hypogonadotropism (not sure of spelling). I would occasionally go off it to see if my cycle would start on its own, but it never did. Two and a half years ago, my husband and I decided to get serious about what options we may have in terms of growing our family. We saw a fertility specialist who ran similar labs to the ones I had done as a teenager. She was encouraged and said to go off BC when we felt ready and to check in with her after six months. The timing wasn't right, so we waited until last April. My regular OBGYN sent me to a new doctor. He suggested going off the pill to see what happens. NOTHING. This was expected. I went back to him in September and he started me on 10 of Provera for seven days. I got a period four days after stopping. It was six days long and I started a fertility monitor at the end. The monitor picked up a rise in estrogen, but no LH surge was detected. We baby danced around when I think ovulation would have happened, but I don't think I ovulated. I have taken pregnancy tests, and they are negative. The doctor said the next step would be Provera followed by either Clomid or Femara. He is actually retiring and so now I will continue with a new doctor. I have an appointment on 11/3 to hopefully get the new plan. If a period were to begin again it would be sometime this week. I am ready to get this plan in motion. The doctor from when I was a teen said that I would probably never get pregnant, but both fertility specialists said they were encouraged. Here's to hoping!
Me: I am a teacher, will be turning 30 very soon, have been married almost 7 years. No babies yet, only my school babies.
