Hi, just signed up to this site - hoping to get some advice and hope!

Was due to have first IUI this month, scan on Day 10 and follicles were ok around 12mm, next scan on day 13 - no change. Scan again today (Day 15) still no growth so cycle cancelled.

I am so disappointed, and a little worried? Is this normal, does this happen to anyone else? I had 50mg a day of clomid on days 2-6 - have been advised to take 100mg next cycle.

BTW, I am single and - never tried to conceive before, but have no known problems, so its just my age that will be against me. Have great support from friends and family who have loads of practical advice about being a single mum etc, but no one that has gone through any fertility treatments of any kind.

Hey happy, so sorry your cycle was cancelled. Did the clinic give you any idea as to the lack of response? I had all my bloods plus my AMH done as it gives an indication of egg quality/peri menopausal? If you've not had it done it might be worth doing it before you push for another IUI? best of luck :hugs:

Sorry about the cancellation. I've never had more than one follicle scan per cycle (well not counting the one they do the day of insem) so I don't know about the growth pattern problems. That would def be something I'd specifically ask about.

I've heard of that happening with the lower doses of clomid, hopefully you'll get a better response with the 100mg. Or they could try injectables for an even better response.

Oh, & my mum had me at age 43, so age is not always against you!

Good luck!!!!

Thanks so much for replies. Clinic told me had to try lower dose of clomid to start but should get better growth on 100mg next time - I hope so!

Am getting positive moods back on - no use being too down at first hurdle.

New on to this site so need to learn how it works and a the abbreviations etc.

Thanks all

So sorry your first IUI was cancelled, but I'm guessing that bumping up your clomid will for sure help... you might ask about a "trigger shot" if they haven't discussed that already?

I was told (even with 100mg Clomid) that I didn't respond the way they would have "liked"- my FSH levels remained a bit high at 14, I'm 37yrs old-- but it still worked! So stay positive girl ;) Anything is possible when you believe!!!

Sending you loads of baby dust and good ju ju! hehe
