After basically stalking this forum I've finally decided to join. I have been ttc for about two months now but have taken a less aggressive apporoach. I've recently purchased and OPK and was wanting to hear some of your experiences. Also any advice?

Welcome :)

I'm pretty new here too! Never thought about opk's until joining here. (always used the billings ovulation method) but thought this month it wouldn't hurt to try them while still charting.

Turns out, I was pretty good at charting anyway and my chart matched the opk results :) I just bought some cheapies as it was the first time, off ebay actually, seemed to work no problem as they just echoed what my charts were telling me :)

Hope you get on ok with them
Pam

I purchased the Answer OPK and spent a pretty penny. I've never tried charting but have read so much about it. How long have you been ttc? After reading so much about others charting I'm beginning to think it's not such a bad idea to invest the time.

Hi ladies,

I just joined forum today, me and my husband are trying for our first child together, he has 2 from previous marriage, i have none as of yet hoping that will change soon :)

I was wondering if any of you could give me advice, i have been to doctors as we have tried for about 8months with no luck and the DR put me on microgynon 30 for 3 months and told me not to have sex at all during the 3months i have now came off half way through month 3 as it was making me really sick and break out in spots and extra weight etc... you know the drill.

So now im waiting for my fake period to come round as i was told i would have a sort of fake period once coming off the pill. we are going to start trying again once the fake period is ended.

So do any of you have any tips at all for me as i really want a child of my own. (although i love my husbands children like they are my own) its just not the same.

Sorry for rambling on.

Helloooooo to you and your hubbie! I wish you guys plenty of luck and hope that your angel comes to you soon. My only tip is to stay focused, as I'm always having to tell myself that. It's sooo easy to lose hope when ttc doesn't come easy. Have your symptoms gotten better? Best of luck to you!

hi well today was first day of fake period so off to DR's tomorrow with other half to sort out where to go from here.... Hopefully things move fast and i can report back soon with a BFP

Hello!! I'm the same as you.... Newbie to bnb, ttc for a couple of months and trying opk for the first time this month. On day 13 now and still negative, but for the last couple of moths when ttc, my cycle seems to have extended to 35 days so not expecting to ovulate till next week!

I'm not using it though to time sex, still going for every 2 or 3 days, but want to know more about my own cycles and learning about my own body

Kaylz well hopefully once the fake period is gone you're able to start seeing some results!
Srbjbex I actually started using the OPK after being unsure if we had yet another failed attempt. A few weeks ago I had many symptoms. Sore throat, Sore BB, a pain in my lower right abdomen, and moodiness. However, AF came. It was a really confusing AF because it was a few days early and lasted 3.5 days. I have tested twice and received a BFN so I decided to start using the OPK. I am CD 8 and still having negatives as well.

This is our first cycle TTC and I'm not planning on using an OPK, although I probably will do next month if I get a BFN. I'm just planning on monitoring CM and BD'ing in my fertile period (or at least what I think is my fertile period!).

If I can't figure out the CM stuff this time around, I'll try temp'ing and OPK's to nail down when I actually O in my cycle.

Good luck!

Hi girls, I'm a newbie to BnB aswell. I have been off the pill since last September and have been charting my temps, CM, and CP. I really recommend charting. I have really gotten to know and understand my cycle. DH and I are on our 3rd month of TTC. I decided to try the OPK this time around just for fun. Sure enough they work! I'm on CD 12 (the beginning of my fertile days) of a 30 day cycle and I got a faint line so my LH is starting to surge. So if you are going to use them, I suggest you learn your cycle and try to figure out when you should O and then start using them a few days before you think you are going to O. That way you save money. We already have to buy all those preg test now adding OPK to the mix can really add up! Baby dust to all!!! Here's hoping for an April baby:)

Tiffani86 - I didnt even think about using OPK, although i may have to wait until next month if i dont get BFP before then, as i have to get my CD back to normal after being on the contraceptive pill. Hope you get your BFP soon :)

I saw some OPK and pregnancy tests at Dollar Tree recently. I was skeptical, but I was reading online that the pregnancy tests are actually just as accurate and reliable as other expensive brand name tests. I didn't look up OPKs specifically, but I would assume the same? Might be an option to save some $$$. I'll consider using those or ordering some online.

Good tip! I'll be charting next cycle if this one doesn't work out.

We have been trying for 4 months, and I am charting and using OPKs. It's been frustrating, because I don't think that I ovulated last month. (also, our best couple friends tried for one second and got preggo) My cycle is now an average of 36 days, so I have been using the OPK pretty much all cycle now.

Fingers are crossed that this is the month!!

Hey I'm new her too lol, I've used OPK alot but I don't ovulate so I didnt' have a good experience with them, I'm now on Clomid. Good luck lots of baby dust!

Hey, I'm new to bnb as well. My DH and I have been ttc for 4 cycles now and decided to try opk. I just started my cycle so haven't tried them yet, but anxious to try something different.
