I'm frustrated. LO nursed great from day one. He was in the NICU for 5 days and EBF. Got home did great the first day. The NICU only let me nurse every three hours but when we got home I let him nurse on demand. Which ended up being evey 1 1/2 - 2 hours and nurse till he unlatched himself.. Yesterday we started having problems. He'll latch, suck but there's not a lot of swallowing. He gets fussy, acts uncomfortable, pulls at my nipple. I try different positions, massaging breast. I've tried to pump, get maybe a couple drops, tried handpumping I get nothing. Hand expression gets something but I'd be doing that for hours on end. I am not sure what to do.

Does lo seem unsatisfied? They go through a fussy stage where they keep pulling away even though they want to feed but you just have to persevere and get them on. Maybe try switching breasts after a few minutes in case he is struggling to get in out but if you do that remember to switch back so lo gets the hindmilk.
If you are concerned there may be bf groups in your area you can attend. They usually have health visitors that specialise in bf.

A baby sucking at your nipple for more will build milk supply, it just may take a day or two or three. Could it be gas at all? When my LO had a burp he would start to suck and then pull out immediately and get really fussy like he wanted to eat more but gas got in the way.
If your nipples aren't in too bad of pain I would let LO nurse so your body knows to make more milk. Drink lots of water and hold on until your body catches up. Only feeding every 3 hours could have your body thinking it had enough but now it needs to make more.

One week growth spurt. As long as nappies are wet and there's poo, don't worry

Could also be wind. If you know they've had a good feed, try holding upright for a while. Wind can be a pain-makes baby act like they've starvin, but they won't feed.

Sounds like normal nb fussy time, hang in there
