Hiya, on CD 18 today and still no ov.

Been using 100mg of vitamin B6 to try & lengthen my luteal phase but it isnt doing much at the mo, might up my dose next cycle.

From research ive done, the B6 lengthens the phase after ovulation, but as i already have 30 day cycles i dont want to increase that, i need to bring ov forward.

I'm now thinking of using soy isoflavones, it's meant to be a natural alternative to clomid and brings on ov.

Has anyone tried it??

Nope! I have the SAME problem...upping my dosage of vitamin b helped! I thought about the soy, but I went with a vitex/maca combo. This is my first month, i'll let you know if it works so you can copy! :)

BTW, my deterrent from using soy was when my doc told me about the increase in ovarian cysts when using it. I didn't know about that side effect before, but it would make sense with the extra estrogen.

It's my first cycle taking it. I'm on CD10 and expecting to ovulate tomorrow or the next day :) I like it so far. No adverse side effects except for a few minor headaches here and there. I took 80mg 1-4 and 120mg on day 5. I've noticed a lot more ewcm than usual.

Thanks littlebird, i was also considering vitex so if you could let me know if it helps that would be great. Is it right you only take that up to ovulation then stop?

What did you increase your B6 to? Im currently on 100mg, i've been on that for 2 months. I'm thinking of upping it to 150mg and adding B12?

Taylorxx, what day do you usually ovulate on? Has it brought it forward?

It's really tempting, i've read so many success stories and after ttc for 9 months i need a boost!!

I ovulate anywhere between CD12-18. It did bring it forward by a couple of days. Last cycle, the first after my early m/c, I o'd around cd40-50!! That's why I decided to take it this cycle because I do NOT want that happening again lol. Apparently I o'd yesterday on cd10 :)

Wow that is good, i'd be happy if i could bring mine forward to CD 17/18.

Im on CD 19 now, i did a OPK today and the line was strong-ish just not as strong as the test line and i think i have a bit of EWCM although i was wondering if its left over preseed? (sorry tmi)

I've been trying the SMEP plan this month, just as a final straw really. That says you should dtd every other day until you get a +'ve opk and then dtd three nights in a row, miss one then dtd again.

I dtd last night but dont know if i should take todays opk as a positive and dtd tonight or miss one and do it tomorrow??? So confusing??!!

Don't want :spermy: to run low on the crucial days!!

A lot of men replenish sperm everyday and it won't hurt to do it everyday.. but they recommend every other day just in case. You could BD today, skip tomorrow, and BD the next two days. It depends on how short your surge is. I know with me, I ovulate the day I get a positive. It's really up to you and your husband! Good luck hun xxx

If you're just taking vitamin b-6 alone, that could be the problem- it needs to be taken in a complex to be beneficial. I'm taking a 100 mg of b-complex (it has 100 mg of b-6) and my prenatal has 40 mg of b-6 also. I took b-6 on its own the first month and it did nothing- the second month with the complex was completely different!

Theres a pretty good soy Iso group going right now. Lots of good info in it :)

Oooh thanks Littlebird, i was wondering that, think i'll take a b-complex next cycle.

Did opk this morning (CD20) and the line was still there but a bit fainter than yesterday so god knows whats happening.

Think i'll :sex: for the next 3 nights just incase and hope for the best!!

Kinda ruled out this cycle though, its getting a bit late now, even if i ov today my LP would only be 10 days and i usually get 3 +'ve opks before i ovulate so this months gonna be the worst ever.

Just still confused wether to go the soy route or vitex????

Think i might take the vitex with the B-complex, if that doesnt help, change to soy.

Good luck with your soy Heather, hope you get your BFP this month.

I think if you do, i might be swayed back to that!! My fate is in your hands!!
