Nipple Problems (maybe tmi)

As of lately my nipples have been feeling itchy, sore and kind of wet (its been quite hot but i dont think you can sweat through your nipples lol, and its the only affected area)
im definitely not pregnant, I do believe my period is due soon though, any idea what could be causing this? Is it a period symptom? Iv never had this happen before and its really bothering me
