hi laura i have a friend who has PCOS however she has regular periods.... in my own opinion i aint no doc but i think they will give u clomid as no AF is clearly showing an issue with ovulation and it's your right to get w/e medication will help you and also u have shown willingness by loosing weight ..

i'm 23 and never ovulated before and had about 3/4 AF's in my whole life ... soon as gyno knew i wasn't ovulating he perscribed me clomid ... fingers crossed you get help soon xx

thnx that makes me feel a bit better about it i go and see my gynae on the 21st april again so will talk with him about it then, how long have u been on clomid and have u had any success yet??x

they'll want your bmi under 35, and should do other tests to rule out other issues, then usually clomid :)

Hi hun,

I definitely know how you feel! I stopped having any periods at all in Oct 2008 and was diagnosed with PCOS in July 2009. I was referred to a gynaecologist in October 2009 and she put me on Metformin (I asked her if i'd be prescribed Clomid and she told me that Clomid is for people who are having periods but aren't ovulating, and not for people who aren't having periods at all. Although, i'm not sure if that's right because other people on here seem to have it??)

Anyways, I started taking the Metformin on 10th October 2009 and have been on a strict diet to lose some weight and had my first period on Dec 12th and my second period Jan 16th so there's hope for us both yet  Just go and see your GP/Gynaecologist and tell them you're wanting to TTC and that you're still not having periods, and if you have PCOS they should do something to help :hugs:

Good luck x

well i am under 35 for my bmi just and i have been seeing a gynae!they have done all the test they can cuz i said last time i went i wanted to start trying eventually, and they said the younger i start the better cuz i have the syndrome so it will only get worse!
i have been on metformin not for about 14 months with no improvment!what else can they do to help if they wont give me clomid!i fort if u werent havin a/f they gave u provera to start the period then start clomid?we really want a baby sometime this year or at least to be pregnant anyway!!lol!!gd luck to all u girl with ur bfp!

this is my first month on clomid and for the first time i have a second line on the opk .. looks like ovulation is going to happen for me yayyyyy i'm soo excited ... for me i went onto norethisterone which is another form of progesterone and similar to provera .. i went on this for 5 cycles and now been given the clomid as gyno wasn't sure if not having AF was to blame ... i got things movin quicker as i requested the progesterone before i went to see gyno so had already been on it 2 cycles , gyno then asked me to go bk after 3 more cycles and after looking at all my blood results he knew it was clomid i needed i have a brill gp and a brill gyno .. i have a bmi over 35 .. he questioned my knowledge and because i knew already what was wrong just off my own research i was very knowledgable so he allowed me the clomid xx

My GP and Gynae both said the same... that if you're not having periods they give you provera (or an equivalent) to start your period and once you've had a couple of cycles they can then give you the Clomid but other ladies on here seem to have been given Clomid before they've had a cycle so you might be able to request Clomid.

I don't know what your weight or anything is like but my gynaecologist prescribed me Metformin and told me that I needed to lose 3 stone before she could do anything else to help me. She did prescribe me some provera too and told me to take it after 4 months (end of Feb) but i've lost 19lb and started my periods by myself so I don't think i'll need to take the provera.

Hopefully she'll have good news for me when I go back in April!

Good luck x

Hi just wanted to see if you have thought about Chinese medicine and Acupuncture?. There seems to be allot of recomendations online about it, i am on my 6th session of acupuncture now and 2nd week of herbs and think i have seen my LH level lower as with PCOS it is normally 3 times the FSH level causing an imbalance. So hopefully this means something is working..

As you can see from my ticker my last period was ages ago too on the 23rd Sep. So if somethings working i hope to have my AF any day soon and then go onto a regular cycle. I will let you know if it works!
