heres a story for u guys....

jen went to the hospital 2 days ago becouse she has not been feeling movements the past few days and was getting pains so she went to the hospital to get this checked out and a midwife measured her bump and it was calculated at 20cm when it was supposed to be around 23-24 cm and they were going to be keeping an eye on it and they also checked the babys heartbeat which was fine as normal...so she got sent away and that was that and if she was still not feeling anything then to go back....

today she got a call from her teen midwife who asked her to come in and see her to check out the heartbeat again which i started pannicing thinking there must be some sort of problem and that i was preparing for the worst all over gain...so we went to the hospital and her teen midwife measured her from a different part of her bump at the top of it and jen told her when she was getting measured a few days ago that the other midwife measured it from about her belly button roughly and the teen midwife told us straight away that the other person had measured it wrong and that the bump size from her uterous was fine and we checked out the baby heartbeat and again its fine...we also have a scan booked for thurs next week just so we can keep a good eye and be reasured of everything and the teen midwife will be checking jens notes becouse this other midwife had advised us wrongly...HOW CAN TRAINED PEOPLE WORKING FOR THE NHS WHO ARE CLASSED AS MIDWIFES DO SOMETHING SO WRONG....but she will be feeding this back to this person anyways....

hopefully all is okay which i was scared at 1st but it could be just the way the baby is lying or that her placenta is at the front...jen felt 2 bits of movement tonight anyways but just thought i would share this with all...

Hope everything's okay :hugs:
For the movement though doctors don't really start worrying about regular movement until 28+ weeks. Hope your LO is okay though! :flower:

I hope everything is well :hugs:. I didn't feel regular movements until 26 weeks but it is definitely better to be safe than sorry. Positive thoughts for your LO!

I hope everythings ok. I dont feel much movement either because of the position of the placenta. I went to the doctors on monday because something didnt feel right and the doctor just said even if there is something wrong theres nothing we can do so just go home! It seems all too common that they just send us all away with no answers or wrong information

nahh its not that...its the part about this midwife who measured wrongly thats all my little rant lol lol surely they should be trained to be able to know where to measure from

Yeah they should be! I had one with my first pregnancy who was useless. I arrive for my appointment and she said "what are you here for". This time i refused to see her or even go to the place she works at and have a much better one this time. Really makes you wonder how some of these people got their jobs

sounds abit stupid and still on the topic of movement...has anyone ever had or heared of anyone who has went for a scan and there was a heartbeat but the baby couldnt move or try to move or what....would that be classed as paralysed or....

I have no idea tbh, never really come across that. You know the scan report from your 20 week scan? The bit where it says movement, did it say "normal"? Hopefully if it does it will mean the baby is fine but movements are possibly cushioned by the placenta. Do you know the position of it? It should tell you on the scan report too. If it says anterior that could be a reason.

hey hun, i have days when i dont feel him move as much and then i have days where hes going mad. If everything came back normal at your 20 week scan hun, i shouldnt worry that baby is paralysed, as if there had been something wrong they would have told you, and you would have seen someone about it hun, so try not to worry about that too much, some one told me if i worry about movement, drink a sugary drink, then lie down really still and really watch out for movements, also, sorry for like blabbing on but, if your from the uk which is think you are, in jens bounty pack she would have got from the midwife, she will have had a magazine called emma's diary, tell her to read through the diary if she hasnt already, because it mentions when she didnt feel any movement it was because baby had turned and was kicking towards her back or something like that. hope i helped xx
