No stepping reflex?

Not worried, just curious. Most of the articles and such I've read about newborns all mention the stepping reflex, where the baby makes a "walking" motion if you stand it upright with its feet against a solid surface. It's supposed to disappear around two months, but Carmen never did it at all; if I put her feet on the ground she'll just stand there with her legs stiff for a few seconds, then just lets them go limp. Then she'll kick out against the floor with both legs and end up jumping, but she's never done the walking thing. Weird?

I tried to see if I could get her to do it, but she just turned her knees out so I made her "walk" around like a sumo wrestler, lol.

Now oyu see Earl is the opposite. He still does the whole 'walking' reflex thing, but can I get him to jumper in his door bouncer...can I jiminy! It's now known as the door spinner instead lol

I'd love to get Carmen a door bouncer when she's older, but we don't have any doorways in our house that are placed somewhere I could keep an eye on her.

He goes in it when I'm on my sewing machine or doing the ironing......he loves it as he always wants to be upright anyway, but like I say, not much jumping going on lol. Just makes himself dizzy lol

Anna does this stepping thing - it is something they tested last week at her 6wk check-up.

You say they are supposed to stop doing this at 2 months?? Strange - why is this??

All the articles seem to say that the reflex stops around 2-3 months and reappears later voluntarily when they're learning to walk for real.

My LO has never done it either, my HV said its fine and some babies just don't do it x

Mika doesn't do it, I've tried repeatedly jsut because I'm curious lol.
