Bella had a little blood in her nose last night but only a slight tinge of red. But tonight she fell asleep in her pram and when I lifter her to put her in her cot...her nose must have been bleeding as she has a little patch of blood on her pram where she was laying and some dry blood around her nose. Ive never had this with my 3 boys so im too sure what to think....Any advice girl?

Ellie had nose bleeds when we came home from NICU but that was due to her having a nasal tube. xx

It might not be anything, but I would mention it to your doctor just in case. I don't know about where you are, but here it's getting colder and the heat is coming on. That can dry out the delicate membranes inside the nose.

I had chronic nosebleeds as a child (and still do) and it turned out I had blood vessels very close to the surface inside my nose. Just rubbing my nose a bit could start a gusher.

I would still mention it though...better safe than sorry.

Thanks girls. I have had the heating on as its getting really cold now esp at night. It scared me to death when I picked her up to put her to bed and she had dry blood over her nose and on her pram where she was laying. She is recovering from a cold and today has been her first day that she hasnt had a really blocked and stuffy nose. Could it be that too?

yeah maybe just with rubbing her nose so much that could be it but yeah make a wee appointment at the dr just to let them know x

That would have scared the CRAP out of me. I would make a doctor's appointment, or, being the paranoid freak that I am, call NHS direct and ask them. Or ring the health visitor. Imogen's had a few nosebleeds because she's been picked at her nose as she and Teddy both have streaming colds. Teddy has had little tiny dribbles of blood as the snot has been so repulsive, but certainly no more than some black snot and the odd smear round his nostril. Have you been using the aspirator or saline nose spray? could have irritated the mucous membranes?
