:flower: Hi Everyone.

Just wanted to start a new thread about Ovulating . I have been taking the home tests now on and off for the past few months but i'm only neg results ? My cycles are roughly 26 days (although the past four have been 24, 27, 25, 27) I am being tested for PCOS on the 28th, but i'm just abit confused by the whole testing thing with the home Ovulation Test.

So any advice or words of wisdom would be great!

Take Care and here's some :dust:

Have you been charting your BBT too? Only reason i ask is i've been reading up on those ovulation tests and some people have found they don't work even though they have been ovulating. Hope you get to the bottom of it! I didn't realise you could have a fairly regular cycle and still possibly have PCOS. :hugs:

Best of luck x

Hey hun :)Yup i have PCOS and have regular cycles:)They may vary by a couple of days but never anymore than about 3 days. There are pleanty of things that can make you O.Clomid it one of the biggest tablets that are prescribed. They work wonders.Any other Qs fire away,im here if you need me:)I could write a book on infertility at this stage haaaaaaahaaaaaaa;)

Yes you cabn have pcos and be regular...i use to have 60-90 cycles...but when i lost 60lbs they became regular, but trust me i have cyst all over my ovaries...still

Thank you ladies! I feel "normal" now! And IrishGirl i'll hold you to that, its nice to chat to others that are going through or have been through the same, I might sound really dumb but what is BBT? I'm new to all this and only just learning the ropes lol.

Thanks again ladies

BBT is your basal body temperature.

Using a BBT thermometer, you take your temperature each morning immediately upon waking - before rolling over, going to the restroom, getting out of bed, etc. and keep track of your temps on a daily basis. You can use www.countdowntopregnancy.com or www.fertilityfriend.com to chart your temps and they'll help you predict your ovulation based on your temps, cervical fluid, cervical position, OPKs, etc.

I highly recommend it - you can learn TONS more about it by reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility or FertilityFriend has a 30 day trial of their premium membership and you can take lessons on how to chart your BBT.

Basically, your temp stays fairly consistent before ovulation, rises after ovulation and stays high until your next period. If you achieve pregnancy, it stays high - and sometimes reaches a third level of consistent higher temps - throughout pregnancy.

This is my first cycle TTC but I started temping right away because I found the book so interesting and wanted to learn more about my body and cycle. Some women find it very stressful and confusing - I find it very relaxing and easy to do.

Anyway, best wishes to you!

HI Cello,

I also have been using OPK's and have found that I have tested negative all the way through! I think some are more sensitive than others and although they help guide you as the other ladies have said, BBT is prob a really good one to use with the OPK.

I have had regular normal periods (although much lighter than being on the pill) since i came off the pill in October. My cycles were similar to you 24, 26, 25, 28, 28 and then out of nowhere my February period lasted 12 days and then my next one came 37 days later. I only started temping last month (in the 37 day cycle) and my temps were all over the place and don't think i ovulated. March period (after the 37 days) was 6 days so normal and then my temps really settled down BUT this month my temps are just constantly low (around 35.95) and I'm on day 18. They did go up to 36.18 around 4 days ago but think they need to jump higher than that and also had no change in CM and negative OPK!

THe body is a weird and wonderful thing! I can't explain any of this.....all i am thinking is we will have to bonk every other day to maximise chances coz just can't predict at the moment if and when ovulation will occur!!!!

Good luck and sending baby dust.....I'm pretty new to this so happy to support if you need to talk :)

Hey hun.No prob at all:)Im here if you need anything.Remember DONT panic.Once your test results come back,im sure your doc will suggest and give you somethimg to make you Ov:)This will be much less stressful because you can use opks and know that you can pinpoint your O.:)

Ladies your all so nice.. I'm really greatful for all of your support regarding this, and its nice to know that i'm not the only one going through it! Its ok for the men... they have an easy ride of it lol.

abic77 - How long does the pill take to get out of your system? I was just going to say maybe your periods have been like that due to it. I have never been on anything like that, but i have heard from friends.

Irishgirl - Your offically my advicer! lol... You know so much! You can tell i'm all new to all this baby making!

Gardenofedens - Now going to have a look at the sites, shoule be very interesting reading!

How long have all you ladies been trying for? and should be concerned that I have been trying for 18months now and nothing??

Take Care all and LOADS of BabyDust!!
