Hi everyone, i just need a bit of advice about money. I was working before i had my baby but i left in may and gave birth in july but i moved to bristol so im unable to go back my job and my matetnity allowance runs out on 2nd of feb and i am currently looking for work however i hav rent and bills to pay and my partner only takes home £600 a month so just wondered what im entitled to untill i find a job? Also does anyone find it hard to find work when they hav a baby?

I would assume on just your partners wage you'd be entitled to Housing benefit, Working tax credit, child tax credit, child benefit and maybe maternity pay for yourself?? or income support.

Best to speak with citizens advice they will help you claim al your entitled too xx

My advice is to apply to claim everything.. The worst they can say is no. I used 2 different benefit calculators and don't find them to be very accurate. I was told me and OH could claim child benefit and child tax credits. I didn't return to work when my maternity leave ended for various reasons and it turns out we are entitled to housing benefit, council tax benefit, child benefit, child tax credits and working tax credits.
