hi all been TTC for over 3years now and was only taking angus castus folic acid prenatal vits and aspirin up until recently, taken clomid in the past but didn't really do much, been looking around and now added Maca and soya isoflavones to my cocktail and was wondering what others are doing with it how they are taking it what it does and if anyone can give me advice to taking these things and how to increase my chances by taking them?

I have Sever PCOS, Backwards uterus, only one tube, blood problems and suspected sperm allergy.....

currently using:
  • ovulation tests
  • fertility monitor
  • angus castus (800-1600mg per day)
  • folic acid (400-800mg per day)
  • aspirin (75mg per day)
  • prenatal vitamins
  • vit C (60-180mg per day)
  • robissun (10-20ml around ovulation)
  • soft cups
  • pre-seed
  • horny goats weed (started today partner also taking) (1,000-2,000mg per day)
  • MACA (started today partner also taking) (600-1200mg per day)
  • soya isoflavones? (started today) (750-1500mg per day)

any tips/advice to increase chances would be great back on clomid next month since we're on the waiting list now for iui.

Wow, that's an impressive cocktail!

Have you got the dose right on the soy, it seems a lot!? xx

I did soy & softcups (only after daytime BD) this cycle, along with vits and folic acid.
I've not used soy since last year, as I do get side effects, but had quite a good cycle on it so far this time. I took 160mg on days 3,4,5, & 200mg on day 6.

:flower:

yeah bottle says 750mg two to three times a day ?

It apparently works like clomid, take it for a few days, early in your cycle to help with ovulation :flower: xx

PS. my caps were 40mg in each cap xx

40mg? can you even get it that low? my herbalist said that even 750,mg was low :wako: i dunno anyways using it wrong anyways lol i thought i'd take it all the time like the angus castus, do you have pcos?

No but I do ovulate early, sometimes too early to be a viable egg, so took the soy to see if it would delay it.
I did a soy cycle earlier on in the year too.

Both times I did have a later ovulation, so it may have worked. Have you had a look on the soy thread?

nah haen't someone advised me to try soya so gonna research it and look at case studies see what it says etc, i am due to take clomid next month. when in cycle did you ovulate? i am currently ovulate if i do around cycle day 14-15 on a 32-36day cycle. so i dunno waiting on iui at the moment so trying anything atm.

I ovulate between day 8 and day 11, quite often, silly body!!

ah right day 14-15 of a 32-36 day cycle is alright right?

soya is like clomid its a natural clomid i took it 3-7 xxxxxxxx

thanks been reading medical studies and apprently people with pcos shouldn't take this produce, so not sure what to do about it plus going on clomid next month again anyways so???

can stop you ovulating and it increase chances of getting cysts, seems alot of people trying trials on this either had no effect or developed cysts, because pcos are prone to cysts anyways it can stop us ovulating and cause pain and increasing numbers of cysts, if you get these during a cycle on fertility treatment, treatment can often be called off or be extremely effected. this is just what i have read.

this is what i have found (NOT MY OWN WORDS)

oy is very damaging to the body. This whole hype about isoflavones helping you is ridiculous. Soy is loaded with goitrogens and slows your thyroid down and has many other health damaging effects. To learn more about these issues get the book called "The Whole Soy Story" by Kaayla Daniels. It is peer reviewed and well documented. Get educated not indoctrinated by a bunch of ignorance. You need to focus on making your ovaries healthy, not beat them up with a bunch of drugs.

I think that is referring to those using/eating soy every day, but I might be wrong xx :flower:

Hi Lynne,
I don't mean to butt in, but I'm sure I read on here somewhere that you shouldn't take soy and AC at the same time, because they counteract each other.....
Or is that just rubbish?......
Sorry just thought I should mention it. I'm pretty sure you defo can't take clomid and AC at the same time.

i didn't know you couldn't take angus and clomid today my RE said it was fine cause it was herbal lol, ah well not taking clomid atm so will just stop AC next month and take the clomid.

Yeah, I'm going to stop everything except the multivits and folic acid when I go on clomid too, just to be on the safe side. (presuming they do give me clomid)

Might be a little while yet for me though, I've only just been referred x

I've not tried AC, so don't know anything about it.

I'm contemplating putting OH on maca tho to increase swimmers! Have you tried that yet?

my OH has super swimmers, the RE says he's really really fertile and why was he with me lol. was pretty funny the point she made about it helped his ego like that needed any help lol... but i got him on maca to help with stress and such its meant to be good for depressing stress and help maintain energy levels.
