Now I'm confused!

If babies are supposed to have full fat versions of everything why is the Cow and Gate baby balance cereal in my Bounty pack made with SKIMMED milk powder??!!

Does this mean that full fat milk isn't actually essential?

The point of the guidelines is that people might give reduced fat in large quantities where this might be a main source of the baby's much needed fat. For example if milk is being given as a drink. So many people choose reduced fat for themselves that the advice is to make sure people understand babies don't need to diet! Personally I don't give any packaged foods so I don't know what else is in your cereal but I would've thought there might be some other fat added or perhaps you are supposed to add full fat milk or formula to it anyway?
