NT good but combined with blood test show 1:110 odds :-(

I am 36. Had a scan last week snd was told nuchal was fine but today a mw came to let me know about my high risk. I am torn about amnio. We would like to know but worried about the mc risks and also wondering if the later scans can give us a clue (soft markrrs, 4D etc) as not feeling positive about the amnio having read about the complications. :'(

We had a wonderful scan on Thursday, NF 2.2 which was fine but with bloods I had the horrible phone all which says I'm high risk. 1:62 of DS. Booked in for a CVS tomorrow then have a very nervous 48hrs, the risk of miscarriage is 2% and of DS 2% so odds pretty good. It is a no brainier for me as I wouldn't have had the screening if I didn't I want to know.

I think we are too far gone for CVS as nearly 14 weeks. I hope you get the good result and baby is healthy! My appointment is on tuesday see what they offer. the wait is horrible :'(

Its a nervewracking time My second and third babies came back very high risk (1:4) from nuchal measurement and bloods and had CVS with both, was a painless procedure just some mild cramping a day or 2 after, both kids are healthy

This time in a strange position, nuchal measurement was good but couldnt get the first trimester screening bloods due to bleeding at the time so couldnt leave the house, went for level 2 ultrasound at perinatology due to the bleed and 4 preemies and they found 2 soft markers so high risk. Amnio is way too risky as still bleeding so going for a maternal blood test thats none invasive and she said 99% accurate. Cant remember the name sorry but might be worth asking your OB about to give some piece of mind

I hope they can do extra tests for your peace of mind. Sometimes they are over cautious because of age (anyone over 30) so hopefully you will be fine. Big hugs xxx
