NT Scan today...

I'm nervous as hell! My apt is at 2:45pm, which is in 2 hrs and 45 min! I guess I better get my big butt in the shower
I'm just hoping they tell me the measurement. How does it work exactly? Is it the lower the gap the better it is? I read that for 13 weeks, under 2.8 is good. So, if it is does that mean everything us ok?

Omg I'm so upset! First of all, my dumb ass hubby put my health card somewhere 'safe' and doesn't remember where! I've been sitting at the clinic for half hr now, about to pee myself cuz my apt was 30 min ago! They also can't find the req they need to let me o in. So I had to call my dr and hope they can fax a copy really quick.

Arrgh! Hang in there! Hope everything works out ok and pee if you have to! Just drink more water afterwards...

You should also be having blood with your n/t scan - I didn't get my measurements the same day - had to wait about 5 days as the risk formula is calculated along with your blood....

hey, sorry to hear no one responded earlier. i have noticed that the 35+ board doesn't get nearly the action as the other pregnancies boards. let us know how it goes!

I had my scan today, too! I was told the fluid measurement....1.1 cm. The technician was quite forthcoming with anything I asked. I hope you were just as fortunate. I also had blood drawn and was told the genetic counselor would call me toward the end of next week. Overall, great visit....hope your's was too!!!

You don't need a full bladder for the NT scan.

Everything turned out! My dr faxed it over, I didnt pee my pants, but best of all the results! Since I had my bw done last Friday the dr gave me all the results!

NT 1.9mm, they said anything under 3mm is good for 13 weeks
Hb was 150bpm
Trisomy 21, ave is 1:83
Mine is 1:1662
Trisomy 18, ave is 1:213
Mine is 1:4261
Trisomy 13, ave is 1:665
Mine is 1:13308
Edd going by lmp is may 10, 13w0d
By scan, may 6, 13w4d
Length and head measures in the 75th percentile.

The dr said these are excellent results, better then what's expected for a 20yr old! I started crying, and ran out with excitement and relief, that I forgOt the pics!! I went back and got them lol, just gotta figure out how to load it on here with my phone.

thanks! I'm so relieved, that was something I worried alot about. Just goes to show, us old farts can beat statistics. And, so far I've only seen positive results on all our nt scans! Age means nothin!!
