Well, I had my NT visit last week at 11+2. We met with the genetic counselor--who was very kind, supportive, and did NOT just spit out probabilities to us !
We then went to the U/S room for a scan. It was AMAZING. I drank about 20 oz of water as I was in the waiting area, and man....this baby was moving and shaking . I had a scan about 10 days earlier...and I'm telling you the growth in those 10 days was PHENOMENAL! We saw hands, feet, toes & fingers!! Baby was not still enough to get the precise measurement the technician or doctor wanted. They did get numbers of .5 and .8 on two occasions . So, I was thrilled to see those numbers.....but they were not satisfied . We also saw the nose bone very clearly . The technician kept trying to get the nose bone, baby's chin up, and the fluid behind the neck in the same plane......and this baby was wiggling all over the place! Long story short, I get to go back Thursday and watch the little miracle all over again .
I just wasn't expecting it to be so difficult to get the measurements. I knew they had to be very precise, but it seems like the posts I've read, most folks got an acceptable scan the first go-round.
I'll try to upload some pictures after while. It truly was such a relief to see such activity!
Take care
