omg how expensive lol!

We are going with the 'I love my bear' theme from babies are us and how ridiculous to pay £300 for a wardrobe.

Maybe im just a cheapskate

where did you girls get yours from?

looked in ikea but nothing i liked.

I thought that too when buying my nursery furniture. I could have kitted our whole bedroom out for the price it cost for the nursery set i wanted.

We ended up buying a cot bed in the sales and a non matching set of drawers (near enough though) from argos.

ohhh theres no way i wud/cud buy things this expensive uknow,i thought if u had a simple design on a few things it makes up for the rest....also wud rather save the money for clothes/toys and the rest !! plus aswell, it does look gorgeous tho !

Nursery set, £35 from ebay
Cotbed £70 from ebay, nice white and pine one
Chest of drawers, £15 from Gumtree
Wardrobe, £20 and painted it up myself with new handles etc.
Changing unit, £5 ex ikea model. Found it in my local furniture shop 2 years ago.

'Nursery furniture' nah leave it be - accessories are good the furniture is overly priced.

When we had Caitlin we didn't have a house we could 'do up' if we had of I'd have been pulled in on this also we went for bedroom furniture not nursery furniture - always note the different in price just because one is catorgerised 'nursery'. Everything was new other than I went against the me liking to spend money and bought a Mamas Papas cot with matching under drawer and top changer for I think it was £90 (collected) it was a bargain I worried about the house/people when I picked it up but they were snobby lol in a top top area lol Bargain!

I think Caitlins room cost me £500 ish thats for EVERYTHING! Furniture rugs curtains blackouts lights accesories etc etc compared to the £700 I'd have paid soley fr a cot wardrobe and changer unit < shocking prices they are!

I will never regret creating a 'girls room' rather than nursery by the time we could do it she was only just ready to go in her own room anyway can't imagine doing it any other way now!

we have the i love my bear theme too, but the wardrobe, cotbed and changing unit are all none i love my bear. We went to babies r us and got ours furniture, and it all matches too, you can buys sets like we did although we had to get the wardrobe separately though.

I went for the Prague nursery suite from Argos, it was £280 at the time.Basic but has lasted v well indeed

I bought a regular dresser from IKEA, very cheap, they have a lot of colours to match most things... and you can always get creative and paint them if you want, they're cheap enough to mess around with

We're very lucky, we have people fighting over what they're buying us, LOL.. best investment anyone has made thus far has been my parents who bought us a convertible crib; $900 all together for the crib and conversion kit-- picked one that starts off as a crib, converts to a toddler day bed, and then into a double bed. So I never have to buy baby girl a bed!!

We are going with the I love my bear aswell. Our next door neighbour didn't know i was pregnant but asked my DH if he could put so stuff on ebay for them. It was a complete Nursery Furniture set from John Lewis, it looks the same as the I love my bear, but no bear motiff's on it, they only wanted 75 pounds for it but we gave them 100, they are now holding it for us for a few more weeks. Im so happy as nursery furniture is so expensive. I hope you find something. Merry Christmas and Take care XX

I was so surprised at prices too, but Babies R US seems to have some pretty good things, and plus Im lucky my father is a woodworking by hobby, so he is making me everything for the babies room, except for the crib. So Im excited
