Nursery rhyme characters- world book day

Hi everyone

So basically I have to dress my son up as a nursery rhyme character, something we've prepared at home and there will be a prize for the child with the most creative costume.

Just looking for any suggestions and any ideas please?

What character do you think will be good? I have to do this for Thursday

Hmm I guess no one has any ideas for us.

Our nursery just stated 'nursery rhymes' and that they would prefer it was made by us.

Have you thought of anything yet?

One of the characters from owl and the pussycat, little bo peep's sheep, a baker for pat-a-cake, old macdonald, wee willy winky, old king cole, the gingerbread man or incy wincy spider.

We have nursery rhyme day on the 24th and I have no idea what to dress Alex in (I'm just glad we don't have to make something) but still stuck on ideas. I thought of wee willy winky, an old shirt of OH's but went off that idea. Sorry no help I know.

How much time do you have to dedicate to it?

Not much time: Old Macdonald (old shirt, dungarees, hat). Wee Willie Winkie (pyjamas). Little boy blue (blue outfit and a horn).

Lots of time: Incy Wincy (black outfit with some legs sewn on the sides). Humpty Dumpty (egg-shaped felt slip with holes for head and arms). Baa Baa Black sheep (black outfit with tabard made of black fleece).

My DDs world book day dress up at school is any book character and they have to bring the book in.

My DD has a red riding hood costume for this year, last year she was Alice in wonderland

I'm not sure what I would do for nurser rhymes though it's probably easier for a girl with something like little bo peep.

maybe a mouse for 'hickory dickory dock'?

Teddy bear from Round and round the garden?

Pig with shopping bag/basket from This little piggy went to market

Actually pretty much any animal from Old MacDonald!

He should be going as Old McDonald ... Got him dungarees and a straw hat, we should have a checkered shirt somewhere. He actually said this morning he wanted to be a farmer so old McDonald it is.
