I promised myself that if we cracked breastfeeding, I'd treat myself to some pretty nursing tops and dresses for Christmas. I can't wear half my wardrobe as I'd have to get undressed to feed!

But looking in the shops, all the nursing wear is cut to fit a bump. I don't have a bump anymore, and haven't since about a month pp (and before then I wasn't going to be NIP!). I have a maternity/nursing top from mamas and papas that I bought when preggo, I loved it then but now it just hangs limpy.

Guess I'll be sticking with good old 2 vests method.

You need to look online, there are a few brands that aren't mat/bfing. One is Mamaway.

I have a bf'ing dress I'm selling on another forum, https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8075/8283295569_84437dd0d9.jpg
Mothers en Vogue plum coloured XL bf'ing dress £20 all in, was £42.

look at the milkchic site - shows you what high street clothes work well with breastfeeding.

I got a couple of nursing tops from mothercare which are Blooming Marvellous brand and I would say not cut for a bump. They were quite pricey though and I only bought them as we got a gift voucher :)

I hate the majority of nursing wear as it seems pretty frumpy! I've managed with a few tops from whistles and allsaints and layer these over nursing vests. I've also purchased a slip from allsaints with detachable straps (it looks more like a dress) so I can wear jumper dresses etc over the top and not feel uncomfortable NIP.... Not really getting away from the 2 vest method tho!

Personally I think you should treat yourself to some pretty tops anyway that aren't necessarily nursing tops- that way you're more likely to wear them after you've finished breastfeeding as well :D

I've been wearing cheapy vests under normal tops so I can pull up my normal top pull the vest down a little & still be covered on the belly & chest. It's very subtle, especially if the top & the vest are the same colour.

The vests I've been using are the £2 primark ones. If you did that then you could treat yourself to a top or two that you can wear beyond nursing too! Plus a lot of nursing tops are really mumsy (duh!)!

I hate nursing tops, I bought two but they're frumpy and ugly and overpriced lol. I like the two top method, one up and one down... but lately I've just been lazy (and way too comfortable feeding in front of whoever, wherever :haha:) and just pull my top down. All my shirts are fairly low cut and pull down really easily (if I can't pull it down... I won't buy it!)

I think it's disgusting that they charge so much for breast feeding tops, and they aren't even nice! I've just been wearing low cut lycra vests with a cardi, and poppin my boob over the top. As casey said - if it's not low cut I won't buy it! Since I've had my nursing bras, I'm clipping that up after she's done but then forgetting to pull the vest over... Oops! Haha

Jojo Maman Bebe have got a sale on, I find their tunics look quite nice. I do hate wearing the same 4 tops on rotation!! After 14 weeks I am so bored of them!

Are you in the UK? I'm in the US but I had a lot of nice nursing tops from Motherhood Maternity. They were'nt frumpy at all and could even be worn for a dressy occasion yet also casual.

I have horrible stretchmarks and a pouch from my c section so I would hate any of my belly being exposed if I was NIP or even just nursing around anyone LOL

I'm in the UK so don't have motherhood maternity, but will be checking out the jojo Amman bebe sale :)
