I am so annoying I know but I do appreciate all of your help with my daft questions.

Last night DD wouldn't settle from 4am until 5.30am when I finally gave in and gave her 6oz of formula, she created again from around 6.45am so I brought her into bed with us and fed her lying down which was fab except I couldn't do what I've read other people do and nod off whilst feeding because I had to hold my boob away from her nose or she'd suffocate, is this because my boobs are too big (36H - actually bigger need new bras!) or am I doing it wrong? Thing is it worked well she fed for 45 minutes and then fell back to sleep until 11am (Would've been fantastic if I didn't have a 4 year old to get me up sooner :winkwink:)

I don't want to co-sleep fully, did this with my son and he didn't leave my bed until he was 16 months and then I had to do control crying but I don't mind her coming in for cuddles in the early morning kind of thing but it'd be great if I could nod off whilst feeding without being paranoid I'll suffocate her so is it possible with big boobs?

I'm not that big, I was a D when nursing, but I didn't have any problem but it was awhile before I was able to fall asleep while doing it, I did it from birth so he caught on quicker, but as she gets better at nursing in that position it might get easier and you may be able to sleep like that

I have fairly big boobs, 36E and i manage to feed lieing down by using a pillow to keep lo on her side then tipping her head back a little before letting her latch on this keeps her nose free...
It takes some practice tho so keep trying and u'll soon manage to go back to sleep...

I'm pretty chesty (38G) and could never get comfortable nursing laying down..

im pretty big now, 36 f , i read somewhere that when their top lip curls it causes a air channel, and as panda says it helps if u tilt their heads back

I feed lying down every night, with my enormous 48HH's. Just make sure there isn't anything propping LO up, so if they do get a bit smothered they can pull back. I sometimes put a blanket behind me so I can lean back a little.

I have put a pillow behind me so I can lean back a bit, make sure there head is tipped back too its really easy for them to just lean into you. I don't want to share bed either but the last night feed is a good one cos i'm worn out by then lol!!!!

Here is a link which helped me loads. You should put something behing baby to keep them on their sides but make sure their head is free to pull back when they are full or tired. If you do pull their heads up a little so they are tilted back slightly it helps loads. At 3 months if she was having probs breathing she would move, so don't worry xxx

I adjust Aisling's position so that her nose is free and then snooze away! :D

I have 38G boobs and Caine loves feeding lying down snuggled up. I do it like this ALL day when at home so its weird for me when out as I have to do it sat up. I must say I find it so much easier lying down and Caine prefers it too. Dont worry about the boob size etc :hugs: xx

I'm a 36J and I have to hold my boob away from his nose or else he can't breath, but I do fall asleep like this and wake up with my hand still like this, or he's pulled himself off me and gone to sleep himself.

I try to tilt his head back but he just moves it forward

I find however I fall asleep with Caine on me is how I wake up :D

Just thought I'd do a little update wasn't feeling too good yesterday so I took DD up to bed with me for a nap at 5pm, took all your advice and managed to feed her without having to hold my boob once she got going and we both fell asleep :happydance: Although this morning it was back to holding it but think that's because she wasn't fully tired and was adamant she didn't want to sleep so everytime I let go she pulled off, little tinker! Still managed to snooze this morning though!

Now I need ideas on getting rid of the husband out of my bed so we can co-sleep all the time

We just have a normal double bed and we manage, it's a snug fit but it's ok xxx

We have a normal double bed too but DH likes his space lol I put her in our bed when she wakes at 5am n keep my fist in the small of his back so he'd roll on that first, makes me paranoid though but 5am is not a time to get up lol!
