I have BF my DD for the past 14 months. She nurses morning and before bedtime and occasionally in the day. She had Hand Foot and Mouth over the last weekend and since Monday she has refused to nurse. On Sunday whilst she had a fever she wanted to nurse all the time and kept biting me and eventually I gave her some cows milk which she normally drinks whilst at her CM. Over the Monday and Tuesday she signed for milk and pulled my top up but then either bit me or cried and pulled my top down, but would take cold cows milk. Now she just pulls my top up, looks at me with disdain and pulls it back down again. I understand it would have been painful for her to latch with the few sores she had in her mouth but she is back eating normally again and thought she would want to nurse again as she has been a bit of a booby monster. Is this the end or has anyone experienced a revival in similar circumstances. I haven't pumped during this period as I keep my pump at work and I have been off whilst she has been ill. TIA

Sound a bit like how my DS was when he stopped nursing. He would say "cuddle boob" and I would offer it but he wouldn't nurse, just cuddle it. Luckily he was only nursing at home by then because we must have looked pretty funny. Then he just stopped asking for it. Maybe express to keep supply up though just in case! Even though I had been breastfeeding for years I was surprised how fast my milk disappeared although it could have been because I was pregnant
