Hiya

I was wondering if anyones LOs have been put on nutramigen for the treatment of reflux?

Weve to pick up our tins tomorrow but im so worriee because i read online a lot of babies wont drink it because it doesnt taste nice!

Just looking for anyones experiences of the milk? Did ur LO drink it? Did it help their reflux?

Xxxxxx

I have no personal experience; only a few people that have told me they had success with it. I know it's expensive, or at least it is here (US). Good luck!

Doc prescribed us this today. Gave her it earlier and she drank it... Didn't seem to notice at first but then kept stopping... she did drink it all but not sure she liked it as much. Praying she doesn't get worse and it helps!

If you find that your LO won't drink it try making 6oz of what you're using at the moment and 1oz of nutramigen (for example in a quantity that you make) and gradually increase the nutramigen every few days. This worked for us for CMPI xx

Thanks so mad!

Im gonna start him on it tomorro morning so hoping it works!

Floofymad, let me kno how u get on! Hope it works!

SaraAbi - good idea! Thanks! Xxxxxx

my doctor recomended this when he suspected jonathan had a allergy to the protein in cow/soy milk. Well i tried him on it for about a week. Jonathan likes his bottles warm and it said not to use warm milk because of loosing the probiatics or something in there. Jonathan spit up more on it and the smell after he spit and his poops were AWFUL!! i have him on enfamil gentlease right now it seems to be working fine as it turns out it wasnt an allergy. I have alot of friends that say this formula has worked wonders for there babies with reflex xx good luck let us know how it goes

Omg she's been on it a day and a half... It stinks! And her poops are now green and stink too! She drinks it but can tell she's not that keen. As for reflux, hubby thinks its better but I'm not sure I've seen any difference...yet

my LO was put on this for intolerance and has bad reflux too and gets losec...
we only managed 6 days, he wouldnt eat it at all.....3 oz at a time tops....however he is now back on the enfamil AR that he was on, we took him to a cranial oestopath and 4 weeks later he is off the losec and lactalose and only on the enfamil AR ....the reflux has gone and prune juice worked wonders for his constipation.

dont know if you are inthe UK but couldnt reccommend a cranial oestopath high enough..
conor is a completely different baby....content and settled during and between feeds....FX this lasts!!!

Hey!! Gettin on really well with this milk! Oliver has now had 3 (nearly 4 but dnt wanna jinx it) reflux free days!!

How r u gettin on? Hope its worked as well for ur LO :hugs: xxxx

My daughter is on Alimentum, which is the Similac equivalent. We started her on it due to excessive/projectile vomiting and fussiness after feedings (back arching, pumping legs etc) and at 3 weeks she still wasn't even close to being back up to her birth weight, which was pretty concerning. The nurse figured it was due to reflux and a possible allergy.

It is true what others say, the smell is foul and it makes her poop absolutely disgusting! But, she has no problem eating it.

She has been on it for a little over a week now and seems to be doing much better. She is gaining about 1.5 oz a day in weight and is now over her birth weight and is vomiting much less (she still "spits up" a lot, but not more projectile vomiting).

Hi there
My DD was put on nutramigin due to silent reflux from birth and for us it worked well along with ranitadine and losec. We saw a huge imporvement but it wasnt until she was swapped to neocate that she slept through the night first time at 15 months! This is compleatly CMP free

We tried it for a couple of days but LO wouldn't touch it, so tried aptamil pepti (not as hydrolysed, so doesn't taste as bad), but will probably be put on something more as although pepti has helped a lot it's still causing problems.
