Hi everyone,

Obviously drinking alcohol is a no no in pregnancy, particularly in first tri.....I myself have in previous pregnancies had the odd small glass of champagne or wine at a celebration but only after the 14 week point.

My question...what do we all think about having the odd liquor chocolate or boozy mince pie filling over Christmas? Surely that would be ok right? I love liquor chocolates YUM YUM!

Pretty sure liquor chocolates are a no-no. The liquor in them can be pretty strong.

I'd think no because the liquor isn't cooked out or anything, its just a little chocolate shot glass

I'd say yes, as the amount in them is minimal! X

I'm thinking yes too - I just tipped one onto a teaspoon and it just filled it. The box says 15% so that's like having a teaspoon of wine isn't it! X

My doctor has these along with alcohol on the "do not eat/drink" list. I say if you want this, go for a little tiny bit... BUT I definitely wouldn't have any until second trimester. At this point, anything could cause the baby to develop wrongly... I wouldn't do anything that would/could help it along.

I interestingly found this too....obviously I'm not gonna start drinking alcohol but just thought it was worth sharing:

hello hun i wouldnt eat it or drink anything with liquour in it at all during pregnancy and i like wine lol but worth the scarafise for nine months

can you have a dessert without the liquor i am a choclate lover myself lol

I wouldn't even bother to risk it xx

I had one the other day lol. It's such a tiny amount I'm not too worried. But it's up to you personally of course

Personally I wouldn't. I had sister in laws wedding at the weekend and I had my glasses filled with champagne for the toasts buy just stood like a Numpty and lifted it but never took one sip. I will really miss my baileys this Christmas but I can indulge in the summer :)
