When is it ok for me to let Dominic sleep on his front? He's just become the ultimate master of rolling and now does it in his sleep. Which would be fab if he didn't get him self in the most awkward positions or simply face plant his mattress.

When is he ok to leave be? Surely if he can't breathe he'll move?

As if my sleepless nights needed to be more sleepless 😧

I was told with DD that once she started rolling over by herself to let her be. I still put her down on her back, but she'd always flip over. :flower:

Maybe check with his doctor just in case?

Same here. My doctor said when he can flip, he can stay! :)

Yes, most say when they are efficient at rolling themselves over, it's ok. My second baby was flipping and sleeping on her tummy at night at 4 mo, my baby now, my third, has been rolling over and sleeping on his tummy since 2 mo. I thought 2 mo seemed bit too young, so we would go and roll him onto his back again, but he would just keep going onto his side, then ultimately onto his belly so I gave up after a week and let him be.
Bets wishes

As everyone said, once they can roll over it is fine for you to leave them. However, it is still advised to PUT them on their back to start out the night until they hit age 1. After you put them down, they get to decide. :)

Thank you ladies! I spent most of last night turning him over as he was just face down in his mattress. I don't mind leaving him but do I just leave him like that? I couldn't even get him to turn his head for more than a few seconds and it was back to face planting 😫

Seriously what kind of way is this to sleep?

Have you considered a monitor with a sensor pad to go under the mattress? If he stops breathing, it will go off. Loudly.

We're still using ours at 14 months. Picked it up cheap on eBay. It's been a lifesaver in terms of letting me get some sleep, especially since she's been sleeping on her front since she was about 8 months.

I second the sensor pad. I have one. Kept my mind at ease when Ashlin became a massive belly sleeper

Thank you ladies! I didn't even think of a sensor pad, that is such a good idea ☺

We used an old Axminster one from when I was a baby until she moved into her own room - then we got an Angelcare from eBay and it's been great!

As pp said, we use an angelcare monitor and leave her to it. She can't sleep on her back at all. She's been sleeping on her tummy for a few months now.
