Oh's 2nd SA, much better than 1st :D

We've just got my OH's 2nd SA results back and i'm really pleased with the results compared to the 1st ones he thought they'd be worse than the 1st because he's still been drinking & started smoking again good few months before them, where he hadn't smoked for 8 months before the 1st but he's also been taking Serlium with Zinc vitamins for about 6 months now so we're now convinced is been the vitamins that have helped. I'm really pleased & now he's cutting down on the drink (which he's done great so far) so hopfully they'll just get better

1st results taken 6 months ago:

Volume: 1.5ml
PH: 8.1
Motility: Rapid 4% Sluggish 14%
Progression: Non Progressive 34% Immotile 48%
Count: 29,000,000/ml
Stained film: 5%

2nd results taken 3 weeks ago:

Volume: 2ml
PH: 7.9
Motility: Rapid 22% Sluggish 9%
Progression: Non Progressive 29% Immotile 40%
Count: 87,000,000/ml
Stained film: 3%

waouh, that's great news. The count is excellent and motility better. Did they not do morphology?

I won't tell my OH your results though since I've convinced him to lower his alcohol consumption and he is painfully going with it!! His second test is in April and I would be delighted if there could be such an improvement, but I don't expect it since it will only be 9 weeks after the first and he has only started taking the vit this week, but maybe we'll test again in the summer after he's been on it for longer.

i'm not sure about morphology i thought thats what the Progression ment where Non-progressive(Do not move forward but tails move) and Immotile(Do not move at all) due to the shape etc. Hopfully your OH will have better results too, maybe if the 2nd isn't a big improvement afterwards it should improve if he's cutting down alcohol and taking vits. fingers crossed

Oooh thats a great improvement in count!
I read that when taking vitamins it can take 3 months to have full effect for either males or females as it takes that long for sperm to be made or for an egg to fully mature. Its surprising the difference they can make!

The 1st one he done he was abit nervous an felt akward, an basically it was just a rushed job in the bathroom, so this time i told him to watch some porn an enjoy it lol an afterwards he even commented that there was "more in then lastime" which i noticed straight away lol so i think that might have somthin to do with the count being higher, but yeah im pleased with all of it you'd think i was actually pregnant i'm that happy lol. i just no-longer feel doomed and that it'll never happen, now im feelin really positive that it's gonna happen faster than the chemical an not take a whole year & half for a BFP lol. so fingers crossed for me & everyone else

Thats very reassuring Jem! My hubbys wasnt great last Sept (after we had a m/c) So he started on vitamins again (we both a knock after the mc and he stopped taking them) And now along with preseed and my clomid we are in a much more hopeful place. Its very good to know your OH's results did improve!
