My lo has been soooo interested in our food for a good month now but i have always said i will wait until she is 6 months to wean. well yesterday she literally picked up everything and tried to eat it including my face lol. My oh and my mum both think she is ready but i am worried even those couple of weeks is too early?

She has started to pick up a night feed again which i have no issue with and means she has 5 x 7/8 oz bottles a day.

I was just going to try a little porridge or mashed banana to started with?

Our pediatrician just told us we could start our son on baby food in a week. He will be 5 1/2 months old. We are going to start with rice cereal mixed with formula first then one new baby food at a time to see if he is allergic to anything (green beans, peas, sweet potatoe, squash, bananas, prunes, pears, peaches)
He said to start with cereal at breakfast and a bottle then introduce one vegetable at lunch and if that is good then one at night. Then add a fruit to the morning cereal. With bottles in between if nessecary.
I am excited to start him on food. I can hardly wait till next week.

To me 5.5 months is 6 months really. In my opinion a few weeks won't make much difference.

Sophie started grabbing food at 5 months then we started properly at 5.5 months just letting her dig into what we had cooked.

She definitely sounds ready :D

We have started weaning at 4.5m on paed advice. If you think your LO is ready then go for it.
