I'm a week late but it's been a bit busy 
I was scheduled for a planned c section on Friday 1st June at 39 + 4 although LO had other ideas! I woke up after a poor nights sleep on 31st May to a text from ds school to say that sports day had been postponed due to poor weather so dh brought ds to school and I had a lie in. I got up at 9:30 and as soon as I put my foot on the floor I felt a real heavy period pain I shook it off and went to the kitchen, when I got there another pain arrived but I shrugged it off and made boiled eggs and toast
while that was cooking I told dh (he was home anyway due to his rota) I was going to clean the bathrooms and iron my dress ready for the next day (my clothes for coming home) another pain slightly stronger happened so dh said to leave the bathrooms he would clean them. I ate my breakfast and was thinking these pains are a big close together but not too painful as I started to iron my dress a big pain started when it finished dh and I started to laugh and said wouldn't it be typical if I was in labour! 
the next pain happened quickly so I told dh to follow me to the shower and time them just incase (I had 5 pains in the shower!) when I'd finished dh said 3 mins apart and lasting 40-50 secs each time!! So I dried my hair and phoned delivery suite as I really wanted my section they told me to come straight in.
We arrived at the hospital at about 10:30 I was checked and confirmed 2-3cm dilated we spoke with the consultant on duty and he agreed to continue with the section although as I had eaten it would be early afternoon so I continued with gas and air.
At about 13:45 I walked to theatre for prep and my spinal and dh was brought in just as the op started our LO was born screaming at 14:15 with a full head of hair! He was cleaned and handed to me and is perfect in every way! Although during the surgery the doctor discovered that theatre cyst I had had removed at 14 weeks was back as large as ever (the same size as lo's head!) engulfing my left ovary so he had to remove my ovary and tube too!
I was on the ward by 19:30 when LO met his brother for the first time!
So Finlay Martin Alexander is here (1 day earlier than planned) happy and healthy and bf like a champ!! He is 1 week old today!
