My OH brought home Omega 3,6,9 combined capsules for me today, question is, are they okay in pregnancy? He was really pleased to find them as a friend told him they'd be good for me and they're a vegetarian version so I'm hoping they're okay - just want to check as the bottle says 'check with your doc if pg'

Thanks, Ika x x

there are conflicting opinions on that - some say it`s essential, others omega 3 alone is bad without omega 6, others say they have no impact.

I take 300 mg of omega 3 per day, it`s a small does, it`s good for brain development. I also take calcium and prenatals so I don`t want to overdo it heh

I drink a blueberry/grape juice that has omega 3 in it, it's with cod, I read that it's the liver of the fish that is bad, but if it's non fish then it's ok

Thanks for your replies - very helpful

I was feeling really down and depressed the first 3 months and went into the Dr. to see about going on an antidepressant. Instead she gave me a handout encouraging the use of omega 3,6,and 9 with a list of all the safe name brands. I started taking them and I have felt better. I hope this helps.

I've just started using V-Pure Omega 3 capsules, they cost me a bomb but they're vegetarian which is essential for me. The Omega is taken from Algae which is where the fish get it from too. I've read that although linseed oil etc has Omega 3 in, our bodies don't process the DHA very well. On my capsule pot it recommends 200mg(? I think) a day for pregnant women.
