We are starting IUI this month and I collected the Clomid and Gonal F pens I need to use yesterday and am booked in on Monday to see my consultant's nurse for her to show me what to do - the nurse is my next door neighbour!! I couldn't believe it, of all the people and it turns out to be her. I didn't even know she was a nurse!! I'm so nervous on Monday and everytime I step outside the house, I don't even know what to say to her. This can literally only happen to us!!

Can you ask for a different nurse? Wow that is going to be weird. Do you know her well?

I went to the doctors yesterday to discuss our fertility problems. I was told when I arrived there was a student doctor in there - when I went in the student doctor turned out to be one of DH'd best friend's fiance. The Dr didn't give me chance to ask to see him alone before he started rattling on about fertility. I was mortified.

Does you neighbour know she's seeing you yet?

Vicks I wouldn't let this stress you too much, I would in fact see it as a positive as she could be very helpful and might offer more support when you need it. Not sure if you are going through the NHS for your treatment but if you are I am sure that there are delays etc in getting to see people and if you have any questions along the way at least she could answer them for you quicker.

Whilst being your neighbour she is also a professional and is there to help you and must be a great person to work in that field and help us ladies who need it. I am sure she will make you feel at ease.

Good luck and hope it all goes well :hugs:

I'm trying to see the positives in it - at least if I can't face the injections she might do them for me if she's in :haha: We don't really know her very well - although have a shared driveway and have had a few run ins about parking!! I'm having the treatment done privately and its a new clinic in Kent, literally started this week (although having the actual IUI at the London Fertility Centre) so she's his only nurse at the moment. She knows I'm coming in - even suggested just popping in at home rather than showing me at the hospital but I opted to keep it more formal. DH has told me to get over it and deal with it and I think I'm gonna have to. Just such a weird coincidence!!
Oh cookie-dough I would have been mortified too, I think you've trumped me!
