I got BFP on christmas day, a wonderful christmas present i know and i am so thankful. However this is my 3rd pregnancy, my previous 2 ended up miscarriages, the first was at 7 weeks i just started to cramp bleed and i passed it quite quickly, the second i found out at 12 week scan there was no heartbeat and the baby only measured 9 weeks. Im 31 now, these last 2 pregnancies have all happened within the last 3 years. I seem to beable to conceive what it seems to be quite quickly (within 2 - 5 months), yet can not carry?

Ive just worked out I am currently 5wk +1. And im so so frightened. Every little twinge or cramp and i feel this is it its going to happen again. I read so many other ladies stories who are on their 3rd, 4th 5th miscarriage and its heartbreaking because its real. I dread to think how i am going to get through these next few weeks, i so want to be happy and look forward but something inside is not letting me :(

I havent been informed my doctors yet, im there for another reason on the 11th Jan so I will inform them then, if im still pregnant by then. Im not convinced my dr's will be supportive as my bmi is 37 and i think that reading between the lines they link this to the previous 2 miscarriages.

There are so many reasons for mc and weight usually means difficulty in getting pregnant, not causing mc (but it can cause problems, such as gestational diabetes, etc., within pregnancy)

(I had a BMI of 40 when I mc'ed two years ago, but then lost about 40-45lbs over 2010 and still had problems getting pregnant at BMI29! We discovered I had an underactive thyroid and I also took medication for PCOS).

Perhaps you should try and lose some weight as it will, psychologically make you feel better and more in control of your body? It helped me, but it was so very slow....also, ask your doctors for a full blood workup, e.g. thyroid, iron, etc., so if this pregnancy doesn't happen, you will be getting super healthy and perhaps next time, you will feel more confident....it helped me!

of course, this is a very difficult time for you, so please take care of yourself....am sorry about your losses (I also had two possible chemicals, and it took me two (growl) years of ttc to get 'lucky' this time)

best wishes

EDIT: after rereading, realised not clear -- I meant to try and lose weight later, not now (if pregnancy hopefully continues, etc....)

I would tell your doctor's office as quickly as you can to see if they could measure progesterone to be sure that isn't the culprit for your previous loss. I really wouldn't recommend trying to lose any weight now that you're pregnant but focus on eating healthy for your little one (assuming you can keep anything down as morning sickness was right around the corner for me at 5 weeks).

Congrats on your pregnancy - I know how hard it is to relax after a loss but try to speak with your doctor and see if they can monitor you more closely to ease your mind.

Sorry for your losses:hugs: I got my BFP Christmas day too, I just had my third MC in October. I am terrified. Every pain, cramp, weird feeling I have I assume I am going to have another MC (I even loaded my purse with pads) DH keeps telling me it can't help anything to be worried but I don't know how to calm down and enjoy this. I am overweight and was with the last MC but when I went through the other two I was at a healthy weight so I don't think that has much to do with it. Until I read your post I'd been feeling pretty alone but reading it made me realize that I'm not alone and neither are you. Best of luck to you!!!
