Hi ladies,

Just been for an ultrasound and transvaginal to check for pcos and the doctor said my right ovary looks slightly polycystic...
Just wondering what this actually means. Do i have pcos? Can you only have it "slightly"? Can you have it on just one ovary? What does this mean for my fertility?

I know you may not be able to answer all my questions, i was hoping someone might just understand it better than me as am feeling worried about this but have to wait until 9th April to discuss it with my gp.

Any thoughts / experience please share i would be really grateful

Yazc you can have 1 or both ovaries appearing polycystic but not have polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS. I have 1 ovary appearing PC on my ultrasound but do not have the syndrome.
To have the syndrome you need 2 of 3 criteria, 1 is the PC ovaries, 1 is irregular cycles or no ovulation and 1 is high male hormones on a blood test. I have regular cycles and ovulation and my hormones levels were fine.
The dr said this should therefore have no effect on me getting pregnant so the reason we are not pregnant is likely my endometriosis and/or hubby's 0% normal sperm morphology.

Do you have regular cycles and are you ovulating?

Thank you for replying :)

I had regular 30/31 day cycles before I miscarried a year and a half ago. Since ttc again they have been random and ranged from 30-58 days. My last 4 have been better though and have been 36, 33, 34, and 31.

I am pretty sure I ovulate as my temps go up and then I come on 14 days after and I get positive opk before temp rise.

Iv had my bloods done and they said no high testosterone and OH sperm count was normal

That's good news then, I mean I think the most important thing is that you are definitely ovulating and if you are then this shouldn't be the thing stopping you getting pregnant.

I hope the dr can give you more answers and I wish you all the best and that you get your bfp really soon :)
