Hi girls. Been a while since I was on here, waiting for my fertility clinic apt.
So some history...I'm 29, DH is 32. Both healthy bmi and DH has normal sperm count. I have one polycystic ovary but my hormone levels are normal, the other ovary is fine and recent ultrasound showed it had ovulated - but specialist said going by the months of bloodwork it looks like that's the only time it has in the 12 months we've been ttc#1.
So now I'm waiting for my next appointment when I've been told I'll be prescribed clomid as the first step. (the second step being a laparoscopy and possible ovarian drilling)
Re first round I will get an ultrasound after the cycle to check if it's worked and the leaflet states absolutely no sex in the two days before the scan - is this incase there are loads of eggs and you need a lower dose? If all okay can we try after or will we have missed the fertile window so effectively first month on clomid for monitoring only and unlikely to conceive?
Also, given everything else is okay how good are my chances of conceiving? Anyone with similar background have a success story?
Thanks for reading! X

Didn't want to read and run.....but can't really help! I am in a s liar situation, PCOS and waiting to start clomid too.

My understanding is that the scan will be early in the cycle (ie pre-o) to check how many eggs are maturing. My consultant explained to me that with PCOS there is a higher risk of multiple birth, as we have loads of follicles waiting, but rarely ov on our own. So yes, I think the no sex rule is just incase you are over stimulated and would be at risk of triplets etc. if that is not the case at the scan, I wold imagine they'd say go start trying. You should not have missed the fertile phase as you wouldn't have ovulated yet.

Dint know that for sure, but that's what I've figured out by reading other people's posts!
