Hello girlies,
was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has 1 ovary i had mine removed in dec 07 and the other isnt in great condition unfortunatly but I refused to have it taken away. Ive been ttc for a year and a half (short time comapared to some of you i know) but I get quite low n feel hopeless sometimes. So if anyone wants to chat drop me a line xxxxxxxxxx

Hi ash, im so sorry that you are feeling down.

I have both ovaries but they aren't working so well, i have been TTC for 12months now. Been on Clomid 100mg for 3cycles and nothing, i have decided to go on the homeopath route but been with him now for 3weeks, so far so good.

I hope you feel welcome and ask away.

Three years is awfully long hun, hopefully some of the other girls would be waking up soon and should be able to be of more assistance to your questions.

One thing i have learnt thru my heart ace and problems is just to never give up hope hun.

I would find a new doctor and get refered for help, i went to mine at 19 and not once did he say i was too young.

Thanx arcanegirl will def be speaking to him after hearing from u did ur doc not mention anything about your age maybe mine is just oldfashioned x

You are in the UK so you should be able to get fertility assistance after 1 year of trying!!! I've been trying for just over a year now and had an appointment at the fertility clinic and did my first round of clomid last month so I would have thought you should definatly be referred for help especially with the issue you have. Sorry if I sound a bit ranty but the way docs are with some people really annoys me!!!

Good luck with the referral. 3 years to wait is really a long time. Have you been charting to see if you are ovulating? I was and I was referred to a fertility specialist after 6 months because I showed I was not ovulating regularly. I am in the US though.

yes ive been ovulating each month and charting but the doctor didnt seem to be that interested in what I had to say.Feeling a bit silly now talking to you girls think i need a new doctor but i guess you dont realy like to question the medical field but with each month a bfn makes you feel crappy. x

Sorry you have to go through this hun! Defo go and find a more understanding doc! Don't be fobbed off! xx

Just an update been in touch with the doctors today and there are no available places with any of the other docs so I may have to look if if im in a catchmant area for another surgery x

Good luck finding another doctor - some are so helpful with fertility issues and some just don't seem interested at all. Really hope you can find a better one or get your current one to refer you.

Just wanted to say that I do have both ovaries but only one tube working, so I was kind of in the same situation - one tube is completely blocked and the other is partially blocked, so our chances of getting pregnant naturally didn't look good. 2 1/2 years after I came off the pill I it finally happened though...was just about ready to give up hope by then. Wishing you lots of luck x

I have never heard of having to wait 3 years, regardless of your age, 12 months is usually all they ask for. I have both ovaries, but one sits behind my uterus so they will not be able to take any eggs from that ovary in IVF as the catheda ( sp?) will not safely reach....or so they say.

Somebody said to me, remember....it only takes one egg and one sperm to create a miracle.

Best of luck,

I only have one ovary, lost it when I was 16, I conceived my DD on one ovary after 6 months or tryind about to begin testing (my DR did not want me to go more then 6 months of TTCing on my own before intervention b/c I onyl had one ovary) here we are TTC#2 and on our 9th cycle and 3rd cycle of medication (clomid and HCG shots (3) ) I just wanted to you know I concieved without help the first time and with help this time (hoping for:bfp: this week) and it is possible. GL, and you should go see a DR to help you, after 6 months with a preexsisting condition (1 ovary past problems) they should see you.
