I had a scheduled cesarian with my son due to his size and my fear of pushing out what they told me would be an 11-12 pound baby. I opted for the epidural because I wanted to be awake and hold him immediately, be able to breastfeed right away and generally just not be totally out of it for his first day alive.
During my procedure I was told I had a massive tumor on my ovary and they took the whole ovary as well as that tube. They said that they didn't want to just take the tumor because it risked infecting sorounding tissues. Scary sounding enough for me so I said take it!
Now I know that you ovulate back and forth from both ovaries. Knowing half my eggs are gone is making me a little crazy and nervous. Does this mean that I will not be ovulating every month or will my other ovary take over and start releasing an egg every month?
Does anyone else have a similar issue and perhaps any information? Thanks in advance!!!
