We have LO in a combination of disposable and cloth. Until recently it was cloth all day and a disposable at night. She recently stopped gaviscon and started some weaning foods so her poo is unpredictable (sometimes a proper explosion, sometimes semi-solid) and I have lost my confidence taking her out certain places in cloth, thus she is wearing disposables some of the day on some days.
But in nearly 2 weeks of me putting her in disposables to avoid a cloth poo crisis she has always always waited until she is in a cloth nappy to poo. She has been straining today whilst wearing a disposable and I thought she may be constipated. We got her home, put her in cloth and she pooped almost straight away and it was semi solid and not something I would have expected her to strain over. Which is what made me make the connection..... she never poops in a disposable.
