We have got my 4 1/2 year old a big boys proper bike for xmas which has cost nearly 100 on its own.
To go with it we have got him:

Toy Story Go Glow nite light (he is scared of dark)
Toy story sleep trainer clock
Toy Story 1,2 & 3 on DVD
Books
Voice Changer megaphone

He will also gets presents from aunties, uncles, friends, grandma etc

Does this sound enough.

Me and oh are arguing, I think he needs lots more stuff to open?!?!?!?!?
OH says the bike is a big main more expensive gift and although it is only 1 big present he does not need anything else. He says its not the amount that matters its what he wants and the thought etc.

i know thats right, but i think on xmas day i want him to have more stuff to open?

Just wanted opinions.
thanx

im with you i think lol, i know its more about quality than quantity and the bike is expensive and a lovely present, but i totally see were your coming from when you say you want him to have some more presents to open christmas morning. Id just go for it and buy some hun, better than regretting not on christmas morning lol. just dont tell OH haha x

maybe buy him some little things then atleast that way he has more to open but you cant get wrong for spending too much if they dont cost that much :)

Personally I think the value is more important than the quanitity :) So I would stick with what you have, or buy a few cheap things.

You could get him some things he needs like maybe pj's, slipper, character pants, bubble bath, maybe some sweeties so that they are things he needs but also extra gifts. If he is also getting presents from other family members it sounds like he will have lots to open :)

I agree not the quantity but with the weather we have had of late he may not be able to use the bike oe christmas morn because of snow so how about a couple of small rainy day presets just in case xx

I think he'll love what you've got him I do no were u r coming from tho when I was a kid I used to get one big / more expensive main present( or something that I really wanted) and then clothes and loads of little bits ( more like stocking fillers + cheaper items) so I had quite a bit to open, I'm gunna do that with Kian. X

I would prob buy more but honestly I'm terrible and buy far to much, maybe buy him lil things that he can play with just in case he can't get out on his new bike x

yeah like the other girls have said with the weather he not be able to use his bike straight away so if it were me id get him some other bits he can actually play with on the day too, doesnt have to be anything expensive, art supplies, action figures board games etc x

i'm with you. My son isn't even going to be 4 months old this christmas and i feel guilty that i've only bought him 2 presents to 'open' (even though one of them is a jumperoo!). Xx

I think what you have is great but a few cheaper things to play with on the morning or things that he needs should be fine too.

Children can be overwhelmed by lots of presents though you could try to spread things through the day.

Maybe if he opens the 'santa' presents first thing and then has breakfast before he opens the ones under the tree, has lunch before he opens his stocking and then you play games or watch one of his films before he opens ones from relatives etc then that will spread out the presents to seem like a lot more and it will help keep him calm and not feeling overwhelmed by things.

But it won't cost much for a colouring book and crayons or a game to play or some bits for the bath or some stickers etc.

I think overall the quality of the presents is more important than the quantity.

But if you do want to bulk out his pressie pile you could buy art equipment as that doesn't have to be expensive, and the obvious sweets/chocs.

The main pressies you have bought him are fantastic and he will get all the other pressies from family so it will look like he has loads anyway!

xXx

I go with quality over quantity as well

but if you feel bad you could alway's get him a few little cheap things to open, but i'm sure he's gonna love his bike hun xx

I will always go with quality, but if you feel he needs more and you can afford it then why not ?? I do feel alot of childrens are overwhelmed with the whole lots and lots of presents at Christmas idea and as they get older they expect it. My boys got a little list this year and it will be the same every year from now, I want them to appricate what they get rather than looking for more. :) x x

Thank you for your thoughts. I know he will love the bike. He has never stopped talking about a bike and every santa he sees he asks for a bike.

I think like some of you have said i will go an get some bits and pieces like paints and art stuff etc and he loves play doh so some of that.

thanks xx

I'd want to get some more little things for lo to open. Cheaper things like some books (amazon) small toys from asda or somethings
