It has been just about impossible for me to find any name suggestions that DH also likes, we disagree on them all! But today we though about Finlay for a boy and for a change both liked it. However we are using DH's name for the baby's middle name, so it would be Finlay Philip. I don't think this goes as both names begin with the same sound, but DH likes it and thinks it works.

What do others think?

I think it sounds really nice. Sure it has the same sound but some people actually want that. Plus if your last name doesn't have that sound then that will change the overall sound of the name as well.
The important thing is you both like a name and it's a really cute name too!! Hubby and I still arn't anywhere close to agreeing on a name yet.

I like it, I think if it was a double first name it may be a bit of a F-F sound but if Phillip is simply a middle name I can't see a problem.

Finlay is a gorgeous name :cloud9:

I love it! All of it! Finley (prefer that spelling) is great name and it sounds good with Philip.

I also agree. I think it actually goes well together.

Thanks guys, I'm still not sure but it may grow on me! I'm secretly hoping it's a girl anyway and that I can convince DH to let me use Phoebe! He's not having any of it so far!
Think I prefer the Finley spelling too but automatically put Finlay as it's my boss's surname (another reason why I'm not so sure but another reason DH isn't bothered about!)

I think it's fine, the first name and middle name aren't really used together often anyway!
