Hi all,

I'm new at TTC and DH and I are trying for baby #1. I decided to use OPKs this month. I thought I was going to ovulation on Sept. 3. I starting testing yesterday (Sept. 1) and had a line that was 50% of the darkness of the control line. Today I tested this morning, and it was a lot lighter. I tested two more times today and it just keeps getting lighter. Could I have just missed ovulation completely? Or did I miss the surge and I'm actually about to ovulate? Any help would be awesome! Good luck to all!

What brand are you using? I personally prefer the clearblue digital ones. It takes all of the guess work out of OPKing. It sounds like you might have missed ovulation, but I'm not an expert on OPKs (this is my first month trying them myself) What cycle day are you on?

I am on CD13. I thought I was supposed to ovulate today but now I'm not so sure. I mean trust me, I've covered my bases if it was early ;]. But I'm really trying to make it work this cycle, as all of are, I know!

I think you missed Ovulation. If in doubt, just get trying anyway :D Because Ovulation can occur 24 - 36 hours after the surge.

It can be confusing using opks.. be sure to read through your instructions. I personally use the Internet Cheapies and have started to confirm ovulation with a digital as soon as I get another line on the cheapie. Im quite lucky because I always get a little discomfort and ewcm, so look out for any signs you may have and maybe log them? it all helps.

You will be a pro in no time. Good luck, it sounds as though you will still be in with a chance anyhoo ;)
