So came off bc in sept had withdrawal bleed. Then af came nov 22nd. Took opk (cheap dollar store) last night and it was not positive but had a very clear second line that was lighter than control. Thought maybe that meant todays would be positive. Took one with fmu stark white no second line. Does this mean I won't ovulate or does it matter at all if it regresses. Help

I've only just started using these, I'm by no means an expert but from my understanding they don't necessarily get progressively darker the way a pregnancy test would. I believe they can go from completely stark white to a fully positive within hours

So when is the best time of the day to test? This is so confusing.. .so do you think I missed the ovulation or it just wasnt positive yet at all if the line was lighter than the control?

When I think I'm nearing O, I took them twice a day, 12 hours apart. For me, I did one at 8am and one at 8pm. The time you do them is more important than anything, so make sure the time is always the same, as LH rises and falls throughout the cycle. Good luck :)

It's important to note that you always have LH in your system so you will pretty much always see a second line all month long. For me my lines stayed fairly faint most of my cycle, sometimes getting darker and sometimes getting lighter until they were clearly positive (test line is as dark or darker than control line).

Some people have their lines get darker as they near ovulation, some don't. You really can't judge where you are in your cycle by the darkness of the test line. Just test until you get a clear positive.

As for when to test- don't test in the morning as your body produces more LH later on in the day. I always tested when I got home from work around 6pm. Just don't try to drink too much water before hand. I always had 2 days of positive tests while other women might only have one.

I agree. I test at 1 pm ish because I can do my longest hold from breakfast to lunch.

It is also possible that you missed your surge. Maybe you O sooner than you think?

Thank you ladies. I'm really not sure when I am supposed to O this is my second cylce off bcp and I thought it would either be this week or next week. We have been bd a lot so fx for a bfp near Christmas anyway.
