Opk result help?

I have been taking opks and today this morning I got one that was very close to positive. I just took another and the line has gone slighter lighter. Could this mean I had a surge this morning? Or can it just be a variation of my natural hormones through the cycle? I'm on CD17.

Could be you missed the completely + or if you are like me, drink too much during the day. Do you have an app tracking O too? Does the almost positive test coincide with it? Test tomorrow with SMU and see what the line looks like. I know the frustration. I probably won't use OPKs this cycle just because my surge confirmed what my app predicted plus I get O symptoms.

I've been getting lots of O symptoms, and I wanted to make sure I knew the time I O'd, because I didn't trust my app. I also stopped BC last month and was worried I wouldn't know when I ovulated at all. I've never been able to tell when I do, because I don't pay attention, but this time I think I have a good idea. I'm testing morning and night, so hopefully the opk is accurate. I was using the digital kind and it was giving me false positives ever since the end of AF, so I switched. And now that that I've been seeing lines getting darker, I feel like it's soon. The lighter line tonight just caught me off guard and made me wonder if I just have a short surge it means O was triggered tonight

It's possible the surge happened in the noon time between my two tests. I think I'm going to mark today as O day, since the almost positive may have just been an actual positive and it was user error. I'd put a picture up, but it's hard on my phone. The stronger side of the test line was as dark as the test, but the rest of the width was only almost as dark, so I thought that still may have meant negative.
